I updated my firmware to my Fitbit Ionic and everything went as it should in the beginning, said it was updating etc. took a while, but then my Fitbit app said it could not find my Ionic and the firmware update was still the old version when I checked, version 27.70.7.27. I restarted my Pixel 4 countless times, removed the Bluetooth connection and even uninstalled and reinstalled my Fitbit app and did also do several resets on my Ionic smartwatch, nothing works, it doesn't want to sync and my Pixel 4 and don't find any Bluetooth connection with Fitbit and vice versa ... yeah I'm really frustrated, can't find any info. about others that have the same issue as I have 😫 😢

The same update worked like every other update for me. I wonder what is different? I hope you can get it working.

My Ionic is still updating after more than an hour. Says "installing," but is it really?
Now two hours, still "installing." Fitbit has never been very good about updating. I've owned several (2 Surges and, now, the Ionic). Also bought several for my kids. I wonder if Apple Watches have problems like this.

I have had Fitbit for several years, this is the first time I have encountered problem with a firmware update like this. Fitbit downloaded the software and started to install, then something happened at the end of the installation ... what I do not know. After all, my Fitbit works, still with the older version as usual, although it can't sync with my Fitbit app or MyFitnessPal. I'm happy that my Fitbit Flyers work so I can still listen to music when I'm out and about 😁 😜

Well that sound like exactly the same problem like I have, and after over an hour (other Fitbit firmware updates usually don't take more max 20 minutes) the app told me it couldn't find any Bluetooth connection etc.

I just wrote a post on how the firmware ruined my icoin
it no longer tracks my steps or my heart rate and the gps just searches.
they said there nothing the can do since they haven't "heard" this. I call bull,.
I told them where they could stick there 25%. too much ,money to waste on something so that cost me too much.

I have the same problem. My Ionic froze during the update. A soft reset didn't work, so I did a hard reset (return to factory specs). Now, I can't even get the watch to turn on!

I never did a full recovery of my Fitbit Ionic today, but when I did that with my Fitbit Charge 2 a few years ago, I was unable to log into my account for several days before it was fixed (it didn't help to change my password ), there were many users affected, but then it was about an update of the Fitbit app itself that caused the sync problems, not a firmware update like this one now. Hope it resolves and you get your Fitbit to turn on again.

If you also have a Ionic, did you try to press and hold the back (left) and bottom buttons until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen. This should take less than 10 seconds. Let go of the buttons. If your Fitbit Ionic doesn't work normally, use the instructions in How do I turn off my Fitbit device? to turn your watch off and on again.

I have a similar issue. After firmware update to my Ionic, heart rate just wont track consistently, not during workouts, throughout the day nor while sleeping, which messes up with my resting heart rate calculation which I haven't seen for a while. I been using fitbit for a while and have gotten used to several "minor" bugs but I'm now seriously considering moving to a Garmin if this doesnt get fixed.

The issue persists (judging by the date of other posts). After several attempts at updating firmware, the option to do so disappeared but the watch will no longer sync anything except steps (hear rate, steps per hour don't update). Syncing and refreshing repeatedly fails now.
