Fitbit IONIC not connecting to tracker

Why wont the ionic fitbit connect to tracker? this has happened before and i had to return it, now it has been "connecting to tracker" for about 4 hours... please assist. 

for something that costs nearly $400, you would think it would work

I had the same problem last night.

tried so many things, all the suggestions on the fitbit community to no success.

My watch’s timezone was off, regardless i set it correctly on both my iphone & desktop. Whenever I tried to pair the watch with my iphone with its 4 digit code/pin, didn’t work for so many times.

Finally I decided to do factory reset on the fitbit ionic watch ( Setting - About - Factory Reset). Then I paired up the fitbit ionic with my iphone again & worked perfectly. Don’t worry about the data from the previous synced, it’s still there. The only missing was the data between the last sync & now. So I logged in exercises manually on the iphone app. Worked fine 🙂
