Fitbit Ionic GPS is really inaccurate!

I've noticed that the built-in GPS on my Ionic is wildly inaccurate! I am constantly getting short-changed on my walks and runs. Is this a known issue? Timeline on a fix? I bought this watch because I thought it was a precision training tool, not just a step counter.

Mine is perfect every time (I have my phone tracking too on some runs).

Some people have had issues, though.

So, it's not a systemic issue, but more of a individual watch thing.

Known issue? Let me think... oh look, another thread on the subject just here. Didn’t need a new one after all.

I'm experiencing the same issues, I presumed my Ionic must have been connecting to the wrong GPS satellites as i purchased it overseas. I decided to contact Fitbit and they responded saying it's a software issue they are working to resolve, the response said:

"We have confirmed that the issue is related to a know matter that our engineers are working to resolve as quickly as possible. This issue isn't related to your location, as you mentioned, so please keep an eye on the updates for the Fitbit app and for your watch since the issue would be probably resolved with the next ones."

I should have been more specific. It's pretty accurate while in a "run"
mode, but much worse in "walk" mode. For example, I often walk the exact
same route that I run, and the to distance totals will be way off.
