Fitbit Ionic HR very inaccurate

I was wondering if anyone else's HR on the ionic is very inaccurate? I haven't even tried it working out yet. I'm talking about sitting down at my desk or walking around. Checked my pulse manually  and it was right at 60 BPM. Looked at my watch and it's showing anywhere from 70 to 80. My HR from yesterday looks insane because it's going up and down from 60 to 90 (all while basically sitting at a desk) and i know that my HR hadn't changed. It's like it's not even trying to be correct. I've tried moving the watch up or down. Nothing seems to work. It's accurate sometimes, but being off by 20 BPM when your HR is only at 60 is not even close.

I've already done a factory reset because it wouldn't sync correctly and lost a good amount of my data from yesterday. I'm wondering if I have a defective device and should return it or if there will be a software update to fix this?

Is anyone else having this issue?

P.S. Tried to post a picture, but there doesn't seem to be a way to do it

As a comparison, I recently purchased the Samsung Fit2Pro to act as a backup while my Ionic is being replaced. In general, the HR seems identical in the Fit2Pro to the Ionic, and both seem very close if not the same as my manual wrist and neck reads.

I do wonder if the Ionics have craftsmanship issues, based on how mine died. Maybe the HR sensors vary, or the chassis of the watch is not perfect and causes problems for the HR read in some devices?

When I started to use the ionic 3 months ago, it was accurate for most parameters except frequent lost of synchonization on receiving email or notice. Then I upgraded the software and problem arose. All parameters were inaccurate, my resting heart rate had increased by 5, the daily number of steps had the total being highly exaggerated. I checked the detail, for example, I walked 1000 steps for each of the 3 hours, but the total became 25600 steps instead of 3000, the stupid software can't even add up the sum correctly.

Even worst, the ionic can no longer received email or other notification from my phone, no matter how many times I restarted my phone.

I sent back the watch to HK Fitbit dealer to fix, but the problem persist.

If you have an ionic, I would advise you not to do the upgrade (even the latest v.2.1 is not functioning properly), or return the watch to local dealer. Sadly I don't know when this problem can be fixed by Fitbit.  Totally disappointed with this expensive by useless watch. Fitbit should stop selling their watch until they fix the problem

I have had an Apple watch for almost 2 years.  It was given to me as a gift.  I wore it  a few times because I was loyal to FitBit but after the flop of the Ionic, I will be wearing my Apple watch from now on.
