Fitbit Ionic has stopped working after trying to charge

While sleeping, the device ran out of batteries. Has happened a lot of times before, pretty standard stuff. Went to plug it in to recharge, the 0% battery shows up (as usual), but then the screen went blank, and now device doesn't turn on.

Tried turning it on via holding down left button, nothing.

Tried holding left button and bottom right button, nothing.

Tried holding all 3 buttons to factory reset, nothing.

Cleaned my charging cables, nothing.

Phone doesn't recognize it, and the green lights on the back do not turn on. The device appears to be "bricked" and reading through the forums, it seems like this happens to a ton of people.

Tried talking to support, and since I was a couple months out of warranty, they instead offered me a coupon. They told me it was "unpredictable." To me, it seems like a common defect, and by giving me a coupon, they're trying to sell me the same defective device over again?

Is there really 0 fix for this? Is my device now worthless/bricked?

Yep.  No fix, best of luck to you.

There's been a number of us complaining about this over the last couple of months, but to no avail.  We keep getting the same run-around from Fitbit.
