Fitbit Ionic not picking up any charge

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Spent last week travelling and my Fitbit Ionic ran out of charge. Plugged it in as normal, but nothing flashed up to indicate it was charging. Left it on for half an hour plugged into the mains on the device's own charging cable and still nothing appearing on the screen. Looked through the boards here and attempted pushing left button in for 15 seconds to reset, left and bottom right for 15 seconds to reset but still nothing.

It has now been charging for over an hour and a half via a computer and still no signs of life.

Cleaned contacts: Yes

Reset Device: Attempted, no success in any display

Tried different USB ports & Different power connections: Mains & PC

Allowed Device to charge even though it did not show 'Charging ??%" on the screen for at least an hour: Yep

Any advice?

Hello @clairemaclennan, it's nice to see you again participating here in the Community Forums, welcome back!

First, let me appreciate your effort and patience troubleshooting this situation prior to posting. To better assist you with this, can you please let me know if the heart rate sensors are flashing or is your device completely unresponsive? Since you already tried the restart process and different ways to charge your device, please try the below steps to perform a factory reset procedure:

  1. On the device, hold all three buttons for about 10 to 12 seconds.
  2. When the Fitbit logo disappears, quickly release the bottom right button, continuing to hold down the left and top right buttons (releasing the bottom right button as soon as the logo disappears is time sensitive).
  3. When the device vibrates, release all buttons.
  4. Wait for approximately 1-2 minutes while the device clears all data. Eventually, the Fitbit logo appears and the device boots and displays Fitbit.com/setup.
  5. When the device successfully resets, please use the normal out of the box process of updating the firmware. You can check: How do I update my Fitbit device? for more details.

Let me know if you have any additional questions, I'll be here.
