Fitbit Ionic not working after swimming

My Fitbit has stopped working after swimming in a pool for 20 minutes, I didn’t go any further than a metre underwater and it wasn’t particularly vigorous. I have used it whilst swimming in the past with no problems but this time it has died, it won’t charge, won’t switch on and won’t respond.  

 

Its less than 6 months old so I’m pretty disappointed, especially as I’ve seen various other members with similar issues.

I had the exact same thing happen yesterday. Only have had Ionic for two months. I tried so many things to get it to come back on...all suggestions from forum. Finally got it to where I could reset to factory settings and now I get nothing at all to come on screen.
