Fitbit Ionic one month old does not turn on

My Fitbit Ionic is one month old and it does not turn on.  It has been very gently used.   I have tried many of the steps mentioned in several threads.  Leave it plugged in for many hours.  Hold all three buttons for 15 seconds until a Fitbit logo appears.  Hold the left and bottom right button for 10 seconds until a Fitbit logo appears.  The device is totally unresponsive.  If there is any way to ping or remote into the device via USB to see if its alive please let me know.

Customer support is ZERO help.  Fitbit has an insistence on sending a video "proving" the factory reset procedure does not work and that it is plugged in.  They do not trust their customers word, nor ability to type "Fitbit Ionic does not turn on" into any search engine.  The procedure video takes at least 15 seconds, more likely 20 or 25.  This means I have to record a 15+ second video on a smart phone (120MB~ atleast) transfer it to computer and try and tweak it just right to shrink it down to less than 25 MB, the e-mail attachment limit Fitbit's Salesforce instance accepts or it returns to sender the e-mail.  I called support again to ask if there is ANY other mechanism to provide this video and there is not.

Absolutely terrible customer support experience.  Considering many other people are having the exact same issue on this forum it seems like this support procedure is designed to discourage people from returning clearly faulty products.

Has anyone had ANY luck getting an Ionic replaced or working again?

I returned the Fitbit Ionic today to Best Buy and they gave me a refund NO QUESTIONS ASKED even though it was three days beyond their return policy window.  I also returned the Fitbit Flyer headphones I had bought to go with the Ionic and bought the Jaybird X3 headphones.

My household will NEVER buy a Fitbit product again.
