Fitbit Ionic only plays MAX volume on Apple Airpods

I am able to connect via Bluetooth between my Fitbit Ionic and Apple Airpods, however, the Fitbit Ionic does not allow for volume adjustment compatibility with the Apple Airpods and consequently is playing music only at MAX volume. Even just seconds of audio at this MAX volume caused me ear pain.

Do the AirPods have the option to adjust the volume? Try this.Delete the AirPods from the Ionic  Bluetooth menu and try to pair them again.If that doesn’t work,Hold down the left and bottom right buttons until you see the fitbit logo.
