Though it seems the sensors are already on the ionic, this feature is not available yet.
Perhaps in a future firmware update we will see it, like we did with the sleep stages on the blaze.

The article suggests that they have a 'sensor that is capable of' so I guess that the sensor is fitted but isn't being used yet. In that sense, I suppose we all have it.
This is certainly a feature I haven't seen being advertised or even talked about yet, however.

I'm like 99% sure I saw official Fitbit press releases which said the O2 sensor implementation was to be a "Day 2" item.

OK, cool. Thanks.

In the press release and talked up by Fitbit at press launch, to get articles written about spo2 and potential uses (sleep apnea). However no timeline given for when it will be turned on in future firmware update.

It was never advertised, there were articles written speculating on how it could be used though

What do you mean by a “day 2 item?” Like it’s coming in the future?

Yes, that is the standard meaning of "day 2"; day 1 items are initial release features, follow on features are considered day 2.

Given I'm an end-user just like you, the only SWAG I can give you based upon my 2.5 years of Fitbit experience is, "Anywhere between tomorrow and never." Sorry I couldn't narrow it down a bit more. 🙂

Makes me oh so happy that I spent $300 on this Ionic.

Did you buy the Ionic for what it can do today or for the futures?

I bought it because they said it was going to be able to hold around 90 apps. Not that I need that many of course. I want to be able to log hydration intake on the wearable versus taking out my phone to do it.

To be true i bought for features they promised esp oxygen sensor i can wait for couple of months. If they can not get things role out as promised soon they will lose market.

You're happy? I live in the UK, and it's £300 here, so $100 more than you paid for the same f**king watch. Talk about Fitbit having contempt for their market.

Did you consider that shipping to a tiny island on the other side of the world, and import duties paid to the UK government may be the reason it's more expensive for you to buy in the UK? What makes you jump to such a quick conclusion that Fitbit have contempt for their market?

Is it not possible? I know people have been able to sync https://www.thermos.com/smartlid with Fitbit Charge so I assume this would work on the Ionic as well.

True! However you would be required to use the $50 Thermos Smart Lid bottle. I don’t own one, nor do I like the bottle.

Fair enough 🙂 Then I can relate to your comment regarding using the phone for hydration logging. Sure enough there will likely be an update in the future enabling this directly on the Ionic.
