Fitbit Ionic stuck in unlock with phone

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hi all,

I recently traveled and my Ionic went out of sync. I tried to sync it and got stuck at "Unlock with Phone" screen and my phone refused to detect my ionic. So I had no choice but to remove it and try to add it as a fresh device.

The problem is now my phone detects the Ionic during set up and prompts me to enter a 4 digit code , but the screen of my ionic just says "Unlock with phone".

Is there anything I can do to get my Ionic to unlock and pair with my phone again ?

@thewickedaxe Welcome to the Fitbit forums! Thanks for taking the time to share the experience you are having with Ionic during set up. Thanks for sharing all of those details regarding this and for removing Ionic from your account in order to sort this out.

Please try the following steps:

  1. In the Fitbit app, tap Device Lock settings or the Wallet Tile.
  2. The app will prompt you to remove payments data. This does not remove all the data on your Ionic, just the payment data.
  3. Add the cards to the Wallet app. Once the data is removed, you will be able to set up Fitbit Pay again.

If this doesn't work please try the following:

If that doesn't work, you will have to perform a factory reset. Please note that the following steps will remove all the apps you previously installed on your watch; you will have to install them again after doing this:

  1. On the watch, hold all three buttons for about 10 to 12 seconds.
  2. When the Fitbit logo disappears, quickly release the bottom right button, continuing to hold down the left and top right buttons (releasing the bottom right button as soon as the logo disappears is time sensitive).
  3. When the watch vibrates, release all buttons.
  4. Wait for approximately 1-2 minutes while the device clears all data. Eventually, the Fitbit logo appears and the device boots and displays Fitbit.com/setup.
  5. Once the watch resets; please try setting it up as you would normally do.

This should certainly help you out with this.

Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes! Smiley Happy

@thewickedaxe Thanks for your reply and for sharing the workaround you did.

Doing the factory reset solved this for you?
