I've updated the firmware of my Fitbit Ionic which I've purchased on the 3rd December 2018, to the latest firmware last week.
It was working fine for about 4 days before the battery died. Soon after I've plugged it in, it started vibrating constantly for like 1/2 hours with the 0% shown on the screen. I've kept that for about 1/2 an hour and then it started to show the Fitbit logo, but it was constantly rebooting as soon as it showed the Fitbit logo. This continued to happen for another hour or more, and then it stopped with nothing on the screen.
I've reached the online support, and as they've instructed, I've done the rebooting steps and factory resetting steps. All I got on the screen were some blue, red and green colour vertical lines and then a black screen again.
I was informed that since my warrenty is expired 2 months ago, they can't do anything, and offered me 25% discount on a new one 😠.
Utterly disappointed with Fitbit.
Looking at other discussions, it seems like there are many other people who have older versions of Fitbit Ionic experiencing the same issue and getting no-replacements.
Seems like they delibarately did this to force the older Fitbit models out, if they have done so, would be a highly unethical thing to do as a company.

My Ionic did the same things to me. Just started vibrating until the battery died and it was gone!
Until that point my only complaint is the battery only lasted long enough for half of my bike ride using Strava. Not worth buying another if it only last a year and a half. My daughter still has Apple Watch first gen over six years later. I guess you get what you pay for...
