Hi everyone! Thanks for taking the time to report the issues that you're having with your Fitbit Ionic.
I appreciate all the feedback and the time you've taken to perform the troubleshooting steps suggested along the thread. If you've already contacted our support team, I suggest to keep communication open with them. They will be glad to keep assisting you.
If you're having issues with your Ionic not responding when you try to charge it, I'd suggest to clean the contacts of your Ionic; you need to this regularity with all devices. These contacts can become obstructed by microscopic dirt or debris that prevents them from making a good connection to the charger. Use a toothpick or toothbrush to clean the charging contacts; do not scrape them with anything metal because this may damage the plating and result in corrosion.
We also recommend plugging your charging cable into a USB port on your computer or other low-energy device. If necessary, you can use a UL-certified USB wall charger. Don't use a USB hub or battery pack to charge, and only use the charging cable that came with your tracker.
For more help, you can take a look of the steps on this article: Why isn't my battery charging on my Fitbit device? And as a last step, you can try a factory reset on your Ionic.
At this time, we'll be closing this thread since it has became off topic. If you've already exhausted all the troubleshooting steps and you still need assistance, please open a new thread on the Ionic board, provide as many details related to the issue in your post. We'll be assisting as soon as possible.
Thanks for your understanding.

If possible try another charger!
Before doing that, check if the charging connector on your Ionic is clean, if not, clean it with some rubbing alcohol.
My charging connector started to get an orange color (from original gold) and I think soon enough will not charge anymore.

I agree, see if the contacts need to be cleaned on the Ionic. Often times (and I am guilty of this too), the device and the charger won't connect because of dirty contacts. Another alternative to using alcohol to clean it is to use a regular toothpick to gently scrape around the sensors. In any case, make sure you are doing this over a trash bag/can so that any debris falls directly into the trash.

Hey there @pbath, it's nice to see you around the Community Forums! Thanks for already restarting your Fitbit Ionic to solve this problem, nice way to go!
I totally agree with my friends @DramaQueenDiva and @Omerta! Check if the contacts on your tracker or charging cable are not dirty. Dust and debris can accumulate over time and prevent a charge. Try cleaning them by following these instructions.
While reading your post I was wondering if by any chance you stopped using your Ionic for a while? If so, what I guess here is that probably your tracker ran out of battery. Have you tried charging it at least 1 hour? Even if you don't get anything on the screen I'd recommend charging your tracker at least 1 hour to see if the battery icon comes up after that period of time.
Charging fully takes up to 2 hours. While the watch charges, you can tap the screen or press any button to check the battery level.
How do you charge your buddy? Have you checked if by any chance the USB port or outlet is faulty? If you haven't done so, try a different port. A UL-certified wall charger will also work. Don't use a USB hub.
If so, plug the charging cable into the USB port on your computer or a UL-certified USB wall charger.
Hold the other end of the charging cable near the port on the back of the watch until attaches magnetically.
I'd also try restarting your Ionic once more by following these steps.
Give this a go and let us know how it goes!

I'm having the same issue. Cleaned with alchohol... no luck. Bought a new Fitbit brand charger. No luck. Wont charger or turn on.
What should I try next?

Mine too. I'm pretty sure it said 100% on Saturday, it is now Monday. When I woke this morning, it wouldn't turn on. I've clean around the 3 peg connection and I've wiped it with alcohol. I used the same cable I've been using since I bought it, then I used another replacement cable at my office with a different USB hub. It won't turn on, and it won't charge at all. The connection does seem shaky, even though I cleaned it and used 2 different cables. I've held down the left and bottom right button for 30 sec but there doesn't seem to be a point since it's already off.

Thank you. Will I be contacted through this forum post or by email? This Ionic is my fourth Fitbit device and the only one that lasted more than a year.

My Fitbit Ionic synced at 5PM today. At 7 PM it was black and would not come one. Power off does not work. It had 80% charge.

I'm also having the same issues with my fit bit.
It wont turn on or show any indication that it is charging when on the charging cradle.
It does show Samsung fit bit and rebooting when I push the two side buttons simultaneously then disappears and nothing.
Is this a common fault with these gizmos?

My Ionic turned itself off yesterday and will not charge or turn back on. I have cleaned everything and plugged it in everywhere, including wall socket and computer. Nothing. I have tried all the options listed here.

A warm welcome to the Community @Erik-Viking. Thanks for the troubleshooting that you've tried and the details mentioned. While reading your post, I'm just curious where you're getting Samsung Fitbit, it should show you the Fitbit Log and then show you the display. Can you confirm that you have a Fitbit Ionic? Also, please check the steps to restart your watch.

I have a Fitbit Ionic. Had it for about 2 years. Saturday it went off and will not come back on. I have tried everything listed in the forum. Nothing is working.

I have an Ionic that is 3 days shy of 11 months old. I have not had any problems with it until today. It turned off with 50% of a battery left. I plugged it up to the charger; but, nothing. It won't charge. I have tried holding down 1 button, 2 buttons and 3 buttons and nothing.

@LadyBlue03, open a support case quickly before the 1-year warranty expires... it's possible that it's bricked like many other Ionics. You might be lucky and be able to get a replacement.

@madgrizzle I kept reading all the comments about so many having the same issue and immediately called customer service. I explained that I had tried EVERYTHING that has been suggested and she was able to get a Replacement on its way. Whew! I was going to be really upset if I was told the same thing as so many had been told.

@LadyBlue03, that's wonderful news. As odd as it may sound, I'm glad your watch broke after only 11 months. Hopefully your replacement will do the same ???
