I have had the same issues this week. I have tried a new fitbit brand charging cord, I have tried the reset procedures and have tried cleaning the contacts. My watch will not charge or will not come on. I have a Fitbit Ionic.

@SilviaFIT Instead of deleting my posts, why don't you take time to respond to my question? What is the guarantee that the new fitbit I buy will not die in another 14 months?

mine died in 14 months as well as so many others. I am so frustrated as I have done what I have been asked and 14 months for a product that is this much $$ is not acceptable . Apple watch might be the way to go or garmin

Hello i found a quick solution to my ionic issues charging
i have been having issues charging my ionic, and the charger won't connect properly to the watch so being mechanically inclined took the challenge to repair.
So i work in a greasy and dirty environment and started looking at the connection being the watch
and found a lot of dirt accumulated around th prongs of the charging connection on the phone
So my next step was to take a needle and slowly but repetitively clean the area around the prongs and plastic were it connects
i am not sure if its sweats sacculated with skin or dirt but found lots around the area were the cable connect to the watch
then i connected the cable and guess what the connection showed 0 then the icon for fit bit came on
since my phone aunt charged for a week now i think i am in to something
My wife suggested not to wear to work or shower
hope this helps i am not sure how to post this to community but thought i would share
Regards Guy

i fixed my ionic problem of not charging by cleaning around the connection were the cord connects with magnet using a needle and removing the dirt
now my watch is connecting properly and charging after being connected for a week and 0% charge

I think just like mine, most of our watches died when they were having enough charges left out. Mine died at 82% and yeah there is no dirt under my watch

my fit bit aunt charge for a week also died with 0% showing i found lots of dirt around the watch connection and poked around with a needle were the magnet connects and couldn't believe all the accumulated dirt hard to see with eyes but cleaned it out and was successful charging
the cord connects easy now and phone is charging once icon showed up and working fine
i wear my watch to work and i think the sweat and skin along with dirt accumulated and the watch stopped working because it would charge properly

So i found that the connection for the cable wasn't good and decided to look into cleaning with a needle instead of a Q tip all you need to do is turn the watch upside down and with a needle follow the outer plastic were the cord connect and you might be in the surprised that the dirt you can't see as accumulated and won't let you magnet connect properly
J UST APPLY GENTLE PRESSURE to the needle and just follow around the 3 prongs and outer plastic then connect your cord and press the left button on watch you should see 0% percent and then the iconic symbol then it should start charging
yesterday
My Ionic died this morning when it was at least at 60% battery last night. I've tried charging on a lower voltage, higher voltage, different chargers (coincidentally that both work to charge my husband's Ionic), cleaning both the charger and the Ionic contacts itself, and trying to restart. I have a black screen with no response to charger or restarting....nothing displays period. My last Ionic did the same thing and never recovered. This is my second one and definitely not my first of issues with it. My husband's did the same thing last month, but did spontaneously recover when I bought a new Fitbit charger. I'm not spending any more money on a third charger when the ones I have are obviously working. Been a huge advocate of using Fitbit, but lately with all the issues, I'm ready to find a solution with a different brand. It floors me that this many people reporting this same issue around the same time isn't met with more solutions at Fitbit or quite frankly Fitbit even admitting there may be a widespread issue. Just disappointing but frankly kind of expected....

I think the watches that went dead while they had charge was never revived. Mine died with 82%. Unless someone has successfully revived it with similar issue, i think its gone for good.

The GPS on my ionic stopped working just over 12 months, then the cardio fitness score stopped updating for several months, now it just died with a 45% battery, and won't charge at all. I too was offered a 40% discount, but that is of the full price, and Fitbit is already offering them at a discount to everyone, so the actual saving are about $20. I have called their customer service time, and it is painfully evident that they are just pretending to "look into it." They repeat the same things over and over again. Case in point, when GPS stopped working, they asked me no less then 5 times to do a factory reset, even though they could see that I did one the day before. When the cardio fitness score wouldn't update for many months despite losing 30 lbs and lowering my RHR 20 beats, they told me repeatedly to call back in another two weeks... As if 2 more weeks is going to make a difference. Take 2 minutes and you will see that both of these issues are common. Fitbit does not have a fix for any of these problems. The moderators just thank you for being part of the community... The community of people with broken Fitbits.

I've never written anything about any product before, but I've had 3 Fitbits, and they have all died. I was dumb enough to buy 3 more for my wife and daughters, but I am totally done with this company. I have searched these forums three times hoping to find an answer to all three of the problems my watch has had ( GPS, cardio fitness score, and now no charging), and nothing. Clearly, I'm not the only one having problems with their Ionic.

Hi There
My Ionic also wont turn on or reset.
I've tried cleaning, different ports and my partner checked the cable with a multimeter and the cable has power so it must be the watch.
Its been on charge for 3 days with no lights. Just before it stopped charging it went flat within 24hrs.
Can someone please help I only got the watch in Dec 2017.
Thanks
Lauren
