Up until 2 days ago my Ionic was functioning as designed; now I have a blank screen and it will not charge; tried all types of reset functions with button variations.
My device has always been clean and the contacts are spotless; the device is in Mint condition yet still failed. This device was purchased Dec 2017...I am deeply disappointed at the quality of the Product.
I also tried a new charging cable; but still no resolution!?
Now what?

I spoke to support and they said based on the warranty being expired by 6 months all they can offer is 40% discount on a new product; this is truly unacceptable.
I do have the entire Support chat if anyone want to read it.

I agree.
My wife and I got fitness trackers for Christmas 2017. I got a Garmin and she got the Ionic.
In the year and a half since, she has gone through two Ionics. One died within warranty and they sent her a new one. The second one just died last week, out of warranty. My Garmin is still going strong.
She'll be replacing the Ionic with a Garmin.

They aren't offering you 40% discount... They are offering 40% off of the $249.95 price, not the $199.99 price that it is currently for sale on fitbit's own website or from Amazon. It actually works out to a 25% discount off what anyone can but the Ionic for new.

My fitbit battery died over the weekend. I was beta testing for fitbit at the time, and while it said the test may affect battery performance (I might have to charge more often), this is Unacceptable. I have also been told that since I'm out of warranty (purchased Oct 2017), I'm SOL.

Same thing happened a few days ago with my ionic, getting nowhere with support, who say they have been busy with lots customers contacting them, from the amount of people saying the same thing happened to them in the past week since the July 8 update, poor customer support again

My Fitbit ionic shut itself off in the middle of the night. Had a 50% battery at bedtime. Plugged it in this morning and finally after being on the charger and trying the reset tactics for about 3 hours it turned back on. Battery at 30% so I left it on the charger. Checked on it an hour later battery was down to 20% even though it showed it was charging. Cleaned contacts on charger and on Fitbit and plugged it back in. Showing it was charging but after another hour it showed 0%. Tried another charging cord and it is still showing battery symbol with 0%. Not sure what to do next.

My ionic will not turn on. I have had Fitbit watches for the last 4-5 years or so. My husband got me the Ionic for my birthday in Nov 2017 because it was the waterproof version. Just before my year was up my Fitbit Ionic died and would not come on or reset, all things listed were tried. I called and they ended up sending me a new Fitbit Ionic watch (excluding band and charger). Here it’s been about 9months with this new one and it went black like the last one. I called and now I’m out of warranty and out of luck. I was offered a 25% discount on a new one, but I’m still trying to figure out why a device that costs this much should be having so much trouble and by so many people! Fitbit should do better by their customers and warranty the replacement watches as well. Ridiculous that So Many People are having the same problems, sounds like a design flaw with Fitbit! I would think a company of this magnitude would take better care of their customers and back up their product. Normal wear and tear shouldn’t cause a watch to quit working after 9 months, especially when it was replacing another that didn’t even last a year! I’m pretty upset that Fitbit isn’t standing by their product! I’m disappointed that my watch costs so much and is now worthless because it is just black and unresponsive. Even Fitbit said on their end it is showing unresponsive. Why does this continue to be a problem with so many Fitbit Ionics?

Another one bites the dust! One more end of 2017 ionic to stop working/charging for no apparent reason. 😞

Wow! They only offered me a 25% discount and mine was only 5 months over. This is very disappointing in a very expensive item.

My Fitbit Ionic stopped working after a firmware update 7/7/2019. It rebooted and never turned back on. I even had it charged up to 97%. None of the lights are flashing on the back of the watch. Before that, the watch hadn't been syncing since 5/12/2019. I tried all the troubleshooting steps but nothing worked. Support only offered me 25% off another device or 50% off an Ionic. Has anyone successfully gotten their watch replace? I purchased mines Dec 2017 for $300 new.
