I feel like my fitbit ionic isn't very accurate and doesn't count a lot of steps. I've tried all the restarting, forgetting device on phone resetting up and restoring fitbit but nothing has changed.
One thing I have noticed is when I wake up in the morning and get out of bed, walk to the kitchen, bathroom ect and look at my fit bit. It says I have taken 0 steps, eventually when I walk at a steady pace with good arm swing it will start counting from there. But daily it doesn't count my first initial steps.
I have an office job and also notice if i'm sitting for awhile and then get up and walk to someones office for a second and back, it will count 0 steps a lot of the time. Anyone else have this issue?

This may be a partial explanation. The device may not record the first ten steps or so to prevent the counting of steps when not actually moving, “tossing and turning” or just getting up to retrieve a remote control, etc. If moving too slowly the tracker may not count steps. If the carpet a and padding are too soft the steps may not count.
In the past there were trackers whereby the user could set the steps preference before the tracker started recording steps. However, Fitbit has never had that option on their trackers.

Thanks, that makes sense.
Sadly its not just around 10 steps, I can count out 50+ and have zero (and on hardwood floor), but then I usually take it off to shower and once i put it back on it starts counting.
