Fitbit Ionic won't stay on Always Sync

My Fitbit app won't stay on Always Sync.  Looks like other have a similar problem. I've checked for updates and restarted the iphone...it works for a bit, but then won't stay in the Always Sync mode. Looks like from the feedback there really isn't a fix.....disappointing.

Which of the 4 types of devices is your fitbit on, @lsmithstrother

The Android app does not have an option for always sync, always connected and all day sync or the options on android.
