I asked for a Fitbit Ionic for Christmas so that I can have the tracker but also so I can get my notifications on my watch. I have had nothing but troubles. It never syncs, I have restarted/rebooted/ disconnected everything all the forums have suggested. I get notifications for about 3 hours at the most on some days then it goes to nothing.
I am going to return it if it does not start working correctly. 300.00 was a lot for a watch that does not do what it was invented to do.
I have an android phone.

What type of Android phone do you have? This will help us troubleshoot if this a known issue with your phone.
Do you have All Day Sync enabled?

I have an HTC Desire Eye ( I know kind of unknown brand). I have tried having All Day Sync Enabled, then I have also tried not having it on. I have tried everything. I was just getting notifications about half an hour ago and now they are off again. They never stay on.
