Hi, everyone! I am excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 2.2! (Firmware Version: 32.12.19) At this time, we've released Fitbit OS 2.2 to a small group of Fitbit Ionic and Fitbit Versa users.
WHAT'S CHANGED?
Please check out this help article to see what's new in this update.
IS THIS UPDATE AVAILABLE TO ME?
This update has only been released to a small group of Fitbit Ionic and Fitbit Versa users. If you have not yet received an update notification and wish to force the update, you can give the watch a FACTORY RESET and then follow steps 1 - 4 below. Please make sure you sync the watch before performing the reset so that all your current data transfer over. Factory resetting your device clears all data from the watch including music, Fitbit Pay information, and apps. Historical Fitbit data will still be available in the Fitbit App.
HOW DO I UPDATE?
Step by step instructions for updating your Ionic can be found here. We recommend updating your Ionic over a home Wi-Fi network as this can greatly reduce the time it can take to get set up. For more information on connecting your Ionic to Wi-Fi, check out this article.
If you run into trouble updating your Ionic, please follow these steps:
Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have questions, please let me know in this thread!

Is there a chance to know what bugs have been fixed? Waiting so long between software updates to see mere 3 features which look rather like "let's give them anything to shut up" doesn't seem to be a long-awaited game changer for Ionic.

Ok, I have to take responsibility for this one. A couple months ago FITBIT sent me a replacement for my first IONIC that had developed a technical problem. After pairing it, my Android phone showed 2 IONIC devices listed. The broken IONIC had been thrown away but it was still listed. Since both devices were listed the same, I didn't know which was which so I left it. It hadn't previously caused a sync problem. However, looking at the troubleshooting tips I saw the recommendation to get rid of unnecessary devices. I did and after restarting the download, it only took about 30 minutes to complete. Everything appears to be working now.,

This update only took 23 minutes via Wi-Fi.
The two previous took 44 minutes and 135 minutes respectively. All on the same network and the same internet provider..
Definitely working, because I filled the Ionic up with many of the emailed posts about this upgrade...

Hi there... my ionic is still not showing the update, is there a way to being push to me?... I have the issue related to delayed notifications (a few seconds), so I'm hopping this firmware solves this issue... Thanks!

The updater is crap.
The result is the same after numerous tries. Downloading --> Installing.... and hangs. The progress bar on mobile app is nanometers from the right edge of the App UX, and the phone's progress bar stalls similarly.
I have Forgotten and re-paired Bluetooth, I have started the phone, the app, the Ionic numerous times, different sequences. Wi-Fi is solid and fast and in range of router. I have left it for hours on end - no success.
The updater is crap. Of all my devices, software and hardware I own - this is the fail-iest updater of them all.

Well I thought mine had updated over bluetooth. In my car of all places. I couldn't get it to update for the life of me with WiFi at all. Kept getting error after error. I just looked it said update successful in my notifications. Got a message to recalibrate the heart rate sensor. It buzzed saying it was done. A WiFi icon came up then popped back to the regular screen. When i checked the firmware version it still has the previous version installed. Restarted my phone and ionic to no avail

Updated my ionic a couple of days ago. Updated fine, taking about 30 minutes in total. Unfortunately after the update the Nest app is no longer working. Every time I open the app I get a Permission Error asking me to enable internet access in the app gallery. I have tried logging out of the nest app, uninstalling and reinstalling the app but error still persists. I have also rebooted the Ionic.

Update completed this morning- and I see no difference in anything. What should I be able to notice? Not that I am complaining- my Ionic has been jamming along doing everything I ask of it!

Possible to get the update pushed to me? Still not seeing it, hoping it will fix the no sleep stages issue I’m having!

Finally After trying the update over 18 hours ago, multiple failures or freeze ups (blue update screen nearly go all the way over then stop when the app said installing), lost WiFi capability on my Ionic for several attempts, trying both Bluetooth and WiFi several times and rebooting (Far left and bottom right button} many times with no success. I finally got the update to work by Resetting my Ionic back to Factory settings and rebooted my iPhone (Power Cycle), deleted my Bluetooth connection and started my Ionic set-up like a new device, it updated on WiFi correctly. A Frustrating Process to say the least. Technology is a wonderful thing when it works correctly.

I am having the same problem, my ionic Addis refuses to sync for the update to be installed. How can you restore it to factory settings when it won’t sync?

Glad you got the update installed. I did everything you did plus a factory reset about 2 hours ago all I got was a bootloop for my trouble. Had to do everything all over again but I'm still stuck on the 27.xx.xx firmware. Now the update has seemed to disappear for me

After the last update, my Ionic has lost wifi and bluetooth connection severals times (sometimes taking me hours to get reconnected) and number of hours over 250 steps does not record properly to app. Very frustrating. This has NEVER happened since I have had the watch. Will there soon be a fix for this? I shouldn’t have to go thru so much to keep reconnecting and lose stats for activity for such an expensive watch.

Found the new firmware ready to download on my 1 week old IONIC. Started it late last night and this morning I wanted to start a run. But my ionic did not show a clock... but a message "clockview not available". After coming home the download did not complete somehow and now NOTHING is working. I can't connect to the device (bluetooth or wifi). If I try to shutdown and reopen the device by settings/about/shutdown the screen returns to settings after choosing that (and it does that for every app I choose). I see the device is synching my steps etc. but not finishing the installing the new firmware.
