Hi, everyone! I am excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 2.2! (Firmware Version: 32.12.19) At this time, we've released Fitbit OS 2.2 to a small group of Fitbit Ionic and Fitbit Versa users.
WHAT'S CHANGED?
Please check out this help article to see what's new in this update.
IS THIS UPDATE AVAILABLE TO ME?
This update has only been released to a small group of Fitbit Ionic and Fitbit Versa users. If you have not yet received an update notification and wish to force the update, you can give the watch a FACTORY RESET and then follow steps 1 - 4 below. Please make sure you sync the watch before performing the reset so that all your current data transfer over. Factory resetting your device clears all data from the watch including music, Fitbit Pay information, and apps. Historical Fitbit data will still be available in the Fitbit App.
HOW DO I UPDATE?
Step by step instructions for updating your Ionic can be found here. We recommend updating your Ionic over a home Wi-Fi network as this can greatly reduce the time it can take to get set up. For more information on connecting your Ionic to Wi-Fi, check out this article.
If you run into trouble updating your Ionic, please follow these steps:
Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have questions, please let me know in this thread!

It is even worse, updating yes but it gives a red cross when trying to update. And it can't find bluetooth anymore.... Great a one week old device of EUR 289 is now nothing more than a cheap tracker without a watch and all those great extra;s.... Oh yeah I can swim with it without problems 😞

I have been trying to install update for three days and it will not work. Now my Ionic is not working correctly. I have tried everything and nothing. I am getting pissed off.

I’ve wasted a total of 16 hours on this update. Blue tooth failed after 4 hours. Attempted WiFi, 1 failed during download, next failed during update. Very disappointing.

Nothing better than losing all of your info trying to factory reset and update still will not work and crashes the watch. I am pissed. $300 tracker that does not work.

Although I've never had a single problem with my Ionic except for some poor battery life (2 to 3 days) which a factory reset solved, it is quite concerning how many people are experiencing issues with this device.

@MattFitbit Is there a way to force the update? A hard reset? Thanks!

The issue I think that is at fault is the entire method of installing that or the update was corrupted during transfers. Fitbit has to do something to remedy this situation

here is how i forced the update (unintentionally since i'm having issues with sleep stages)
- Removed the Ionic from the app
- In bluetooth settings on my iPhone i removed the Ionic (Forget device)
- Deleted the Fitibit app.
- Did a hard reset on the Ionic.
- Downloaded the app, linked the watch which caused the update, and installed like it was new.
So far so good, the whole process took about an hour over WIFI with no issues.
I will updated tomorrow if my sleep stages are working after this firmware update, besides that no issue.
went on an 1.5 hour walk using GPS and used 15% battery.
Good luck.
Update: After the factory reset i was prompted for the update, but it wasn't the 32.12.19, i was updated 32.10.20. Also this didn't fix the sleep stages, so i'm officially giving up on Fitibt. Garmin or Apple watch is on the horizon for me.

On my 2nd Ionic, since buying my first smartwatch Feb 1/2018...first update ruined the display on FBI #1...this recent update failed twice to install, but now my music won't even open and the active minutes tracker is acting goofy. I love the functionally of the Ionic but I'm ready to walk away if they can't make things easier. I use the music to Bluetooth headphones all the time in flight, working out etc...the Bluetooth connection is very weak in general and now is worse after the "update." Don't make me beg, Fitbit...but we need a faster solution to load music too; I expected more frankly. Good device though...hope they fix this soon as Galaxy Watch is calling to me...

Did not work for me... I did hard reset, reinstall but I still have 32.10.20... I guess I will have to wait for the update to be send to my watch...

I am trying to get it to update for about the 20th time it seems. In between failed updates, I also lost the ability to open the exercise app, so no gps on my run this morning. Prior to the update I had also lost 5.5 miles of a 7mile run. Trying this update over bluetooth. Crossing my fingers.
