Hi, everyone! I am excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 2.2! (Firmware Version: 32.12.19) At this time, we've released Fitbit OS 2.2 to a small group of Fitbit Ionic and Fitbit Versa users.
WHAT'S CHANGED?
Please check out this help article to see what's new in this update.
IS THIS UPDATE AVAILABLE TO ME?
This update has only been released to a small group of Fitbit Ionic and Fitbit Versa users. If you have not yet received an update notification and wish to force the update, you can give the watch a FACTORY RESET and then follow steps 1 - 4 below. Please make sure you sync the watch before performing the reset so that all your current data transfer over. Factory resetting your device clears all data from the watch including music, Fitbit Pay information, and apps. Historical Fitbit data will still be available in the Fitbit App.
HOW DO I UPDATE?
Step by step instructions for updating your Ionic can be found here. We recommend updating your Ionic over a home Wi-Fi network as this can greatly reduce the time it can take to get set up. For more information on connecting your Ionic to Wi-Fi, check out this article.
If you run into trouble updating your Ionic, please follow these steps:
Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have questions, please let me know in this thread!

I won't update. The list of new features is too small. And it doesn't mention which bugs are supposed to be fixed.
I just don't want to take the risk to destroy my watch.

Usally the update will take around 20min. If you have set your WiFi connection. If not the watch will try it over Bluetooth. And this won't work. The updates are too big.

Just a heads up to everyone but if you use a network wide adblocker eg pi-hole this will cause problems downloading the firmware.

Hey there @Mikata. Thanks for sharing your experience with the Community. Hope you can continue enjoying your Fitbit Ionic.
It's great to see you around @Nicky89. The update hasn't been released to all users. The workaround for users that want to get the update is to perform a factory reset. Every time, there's a new firmware update you can check this article for more information about it What's changed in the latest Fitbit OS update?.
Hey there @COSAILORS. Thanks for following up the instructions that have been sent before. In order to provide you with the best solution, I would like to know if you were able to update your Ionic or if it's stuck on any screen message?
It's great to see you around @benedikt.ebli. Thanks for the tips. It's usually recommended to perform the update via Wi-Fi. If you're finding any issue, you can try these steps Why can't I update my Fitbit device?.
Thanks for the tips @Anakha56.
I'll be around if you have any additional questions.

The new functionalities in this update are so minor, that I will skip it. I don't want to risk breaking my device.

@EdsonFitbit yes I know, only old Honor devices are on the list. But nevertheless it was working (not good or stable, but working) before doing an upate to firmware **19 and Fitbit Android app. Maybe it is an bug (?) in the app and not an firmware bug.. let's wait... and try again and again..
Perhaps there is a nice and working device under our christmas tree soon. But for sure not from Fitbit!

Hey there @Nicky89. Thanks for sharing that you're not going to update your Ionic. Hope you can continue enjoying it and that it helps you reaching your goals.
@SunsetRunner Sorry to hear that after performing the firmware update, it stopped syncing to your Honor device. Since, it's not a supported device there's no way to confirm the synchronization between the two. However, Fitbit is always testing new devices to be added.
@PAR3- I would like you to try the steps provided on this article Why don't I see my heart rate on my Fitbit device?.
Welcome to the Community @TheGlove310. Thanks for the troubleshooting that you've performed. I would like you to confirm that you've done a restart and then set it up again to your account, this might be the reason why it's showing the Fitbit Logo.
Thanks for your advice @Paul1960! Customer Support is always here to help you.
Hope this helps!

it took me like 3 hours and still counting. This is unacceptably slow, which makes both my phone and fitbit device unusable for those amount of time and still counting. This is really a BIG OFF for me right from the first time unboxing the device.

So it turns out that my fitbit is defective after almost a year of having no issues. My money is that the update did something to it.

Dear FitBit,
I really cannot emphasise this enough, but you need to update the vibration settings, to include the 'Very Strong' option, effective immediately.
The 'strong' and 'normal' settings just can't be felt, and as such render the whole notification process basically redundant. That means no morning alarm, no message notices, no call notices, and no target notices. What is the point without these??
Please, please listen to the feedback and release an update. And maybe tell me why on earth this vital setting was removed??
If it's not fixed within the next few weeks you can guarantee I shall move to another provider who's tech actually functions.
Rich

I just checked and I have this firmware version on my ionic and I'm still having issues that were supposedly corrected with previous updates. I just had to force the time zone difference back to est (I had traveled yesterday to central time). Also have syncing issues and have had to reset everything twice. Only had my watch since October. Very disappointed with product compared to my previous Samsung Watch. I wish I never switched, now I'm stuck!!
