Hi, everyone! I am excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 2.2! (Firmware Version: 32.12.19) At this time, we've released Fitbit OS 2.2 to a small group of Fitbit Ionic and Fitbit Versa users.
WHAT'S CHANGED?
Please check out this help article to see what's new in this update.
IS THIS UPDATE AVAILABLE TO ME?
This update has only been released to a small group of Fitbit Ionic and Fitbit Versa users. If you have not yet received an update notification and wish to force the update, you can give the watch a FACTORY RESET and then follow steps 1 - 4 below. Please make sure you sync the watch before performing the reset so that all your current data transfer over. Factory resetting your device clears all data from the watch including music, Fitbit Pay information, and apps. Historical Fitbit data will still be available in the Fitbit App.
HOW DO I UPDATE?
Step by step instructions for updating your Ionic can be found here. We recommend updating your Ionic over a home Wi-Fi network as this can greatly reduce the time it can take to get set up. For more information on connecting your Ionic to Wi-Fi, check out this article.
If you run into trouble updating your Ionic, please follow these steps:
Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have questions, please let me know in this thread!

I sincerely hope the upgrade is going to fix the weak vibration issues that have surfaced in the last few weeks. Folks, you need to bring back the "very strong" option because otherwise the alarm doesn't wake us up, and the notifications are barely noticeable. Please, please get this fixed.

Vibrations are important to me. I have hearing problems and the ionic is my important alarm clock to work. I need strong, strong vibrations

Hi Matt,
Happy Thanksgiving!
I tried all those steps back in October includong a factory reset with Monica, and today, but my watch still has the old firmware and am unable to pair it with my phone (which worked together before). I lost data from 11/9 onward again. The thing that doesn't make sense is this is my 7th year with a Fitbit device, but the first time I've had this much trouble syncing data and the watch continuously turning off while running. What can I do? It's entirely unusable and I've followed these steps twice....

LOL ! ... im looking at step counter and its literally ticking away 3 steps while its sitting on my desk. !?!?! multiple resets, factory resets... looked at firmware and its the 27.32.12.19 version ... even after multiple resets. ... suggested resets and steps to force update didnt work .... any other ideas?

Hello everyone! Thanks for your continuous participation on this thread regarding the firmware update to Fitbit OS 2.2 on Ionic.
Yes, in order for you to get this update you need to perform a factory reset on your watch. For the ones that have tried this already with no effect; please check if you are performing the right steps:
Note that factory resetting your device clears all data from the watch including music, Fitbit Pay information, and apps. All your Fitbit data is still available in the Fitbit app.
Also, check what firmware version you have. The latest one is version 27.32.12.19.
Please remember to keep this thread on topic regarding the firmware update to Fitbit OS 2.2.
Keep me posted!

I definitely agree! To have to do a factory reset to get an update is insane. Can you imagine if Apple or any other company made their customers do that.

If you can... try to verify it with an external device..

Nobody should have to do a full reset to get an update, without having to re-install all music etc and with the risk of losing some recent data, just typical of how poorly fitbit treats its customers

I totally agree and Fitbit makes it sound like it's a normal operation. I'm very dissatisfied with Fitbit and the next upgrade will probably be with Apple
