Fitbit Update 1/10/19:
Hi all! Big thanks to everyone for your feedback on the release of Fitbit OS 3.0!
Since the majority of users have now updated to 3.0, I will be closing this thread from further comments to help keep our community discussions on-topic.
If you are experiencing an issue outside of the firmware update process, I invite you to start a new thread on this forum and we will be happy to assist you there. Thanks again and happy stepping!
Fitbit Update 12/26:
Hey, everyone! We're aware that some of you may have noticed a fast battery drain on your Ionic watches after completing this firmware update. Our team is investigating the root cause of this issue and whether it was caused by this update or other factors are involved.
In the meantime, if you're experiencing this problem please try a restart on the device then consider switching to a Fitbit made clock face! Many 3rd party clockfaces (especially those with animations) are known to use up more battery. If you try this out and are still seeing a fast battery drain, we can connect you with Customer Support for next steps or you can reach out to them and create a case.
We look forward to getting you all back on track!
Fitbit Update 12/22:
We've released Fitbit OS 3.0 out to 100% of users. Please make sure you have the latest version of the Fitbit app (2.84) before downloading the newest firmware.
We're excited for you all to have the newest Fitbit OS, but please let us know if you have any questions about this update. Happy Holidays, everyone!
Hi, everyone!
I am excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 3.0! (Firmware Version: 27.33.1.30)
We've started to roll out this update to 20% of Ionic users. This is a progressive rollout, and all Ionic users can expect to have it soon. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
WHAT'S CHANGED?
Please check out this help article to see what's new in this update.
HOW DO I UPDATE?
Step by step instructions for updating your Ionic can be found here. We recommend updating your Ionic over a home Wi-Fi network as this can greatly reduce the time it can take to get set up. For more information on connecting your Ionic to Wi-Fi, check out this article.
If you run into trouble updating your Ionic, please follow these steps:
If anyone isn't seeing the Today app after updating, please try the following:
1. Make sure you're running the newest version of the Fitbit app.
2. Connect to Wi-Fi in the Fitbit app, plug your Ionic into the charger and let it sit. This will automatically update the Today app.
Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have questions, please let me know in this thread!

Just to let you know, MFP integration is broken with this update. Didn't notice until somebody else mentioned it.

Installed OS 3.0 on my Ionic todayi. Took about 20 minutes. Install went very smoothly. After install completed, watch did a calibration of the sensors. Working fine so far. Like being able to see my stats on the watch, especially all the sleep stats. No excessive battery drain as some have noted.

I just updated mine, it took under 20 min to do so. I hooked my Ionic up to my computer and installed the update via my phone over WiFi. The Fitbit app froze at some point, but my watch indicated that the update was complete, so I restarted the app. Lo and behold, the update completed, as I looked in the Ionic settings to see what firmware version I had. I then looked at the topic of this forum to see if the numbers in the firmware version matched and they do, so now all that's left is to play around with the new firmware!

Im just getting the update now. My watch was syncing Pandora right before, but looks like the update canceled that. I hope that doesn't cause issues with the update.
Is it a good idea to factory reset after the update?

I have the same problem as some others when Fitbit logo flashing and Ionic does not react. Will wait when battery will die and try to restart. It is interesting will it work or not.

This is terrible on Fitbit and Game Golf.
It appears that there are a number of apps that aren't working with os3.0. Did they not notify app developers of the release

I restarted my Ionic after the update (press left and lower right buttons until restarts). That maintains all your tracker data and apps. I don't think it is necessary to a factory reset. That will wipe your tracker data.

A very smooth update and only took 14 minutes via phone, no Wi-Fi..
So far no issues, all of my personal settings remain unchanged.. syncing perfectly to phone and Weather is accurate.

Question.
(1) Today's Status
After this Update, I cannot see Today's Status any longer.
I could see Up-Swipe to see Today's Status with Battery Remaining Percentage.
What is going on with this Software Update?
This was basic Function, why suddenly eliminate with this New Firmware (27.33.1.30)?
(2) Is there any improvement for Lost GPS during Long Distance Running like Full Marathon (26.2 Miles)?
Best regards

Updated my watch just before the update was suspended. Using my S8 and wifi it took just 12 minutes to update the firmware. App on phone took 20 minutes to end. This also happend on initial install update. I assume the watch is updating software on the watch during this time. At the end today app was working with swiping up on the watch. Initialy I only had three options but after a I noticed that the Deezer update did not continue I stopped the install. After this the today app after a short while showed the seven options and other software did update as well. Deezer did after this update without a problem. I got the seven. Battery life is still great gps tracking works like a charm. Only real difference is that my right lower button does now start the music player...
All in all happy whith this update.
Ps I think that a lot of watch loading problems are caused by high power adapters that do not recognize the device connected and do not deliver power at all. Thius happend with quite some devices f.e. my LG smartwatch, my Samsung Gear Fit 2 pro and some musicplayers. Maybe something to test?

Just clarify about my point.
"Today's Status" means "Status with Battery Remaining Percentage"
on the Ionic itself and not in Fitbit app.
Please confirm why this was removed in New Firmware.
Or changed the way to see "Today's Status?"
If so, it is very confusing anyway.

I too only have 3 options in Today on the watch itself, I even did a factory reset and still showing the same. Do I need to go into the app on the phone to change these?
