Fitbit Update 1/10/19:
Hi all! Big thanks to everyone for your feedback on the release of Fitbit OS 3.0!
Since the majority of users have now updated to 3.0, I will be closing this thread from further comments to help keep our community discussions on-topic.
If you are experiencing an issue outside of the firmware update process, I invite you to start a new thread on this forum and we will be happy to assist you there. Thanks again and happy stepping!
Fitbit Update 12/26:
Hey, everyone! We're aware that some of you may have noticed a fast battery drain on your Ionic watches after completing this firmware update. Our team is investigating the root cause of this issue and whether it was caused by this update or other factors are involved.
In the meantime, if you're experiencing this problem please try a restart on the device then consider switching to a Fitbit made clock face! Many 3rd party clockfaces (especially those with animations) are known to use up more battery. If you try this out and are still seeing a fast battery drain, we can connect you with Customer Support for next steps or you can reach out to them and create a case.
We look forward to getting you all back on track!
Fitbit Update 12/22:
We've released Fitbit OS 3.0 out to 100% of users. Please make sure you have the latest version of the Fitbit app (2.84) before downloading the newest firmware.
We're excited for you all to have the newest Fitbit OS, but please let us know if you have any questions about this update. Happy Holidays, everyone!
Hi, everyone!
I am excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 3.0! (Firmware Version: 27.33.1.30)
We've started to roll out this update to 20% of Ionic users. This is a progressive rollout, and all Ionic users can expect to have it soon. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
WHAT'S CHANGED?
Please check out this help article to see what's new in this update.
HOW DO I UPDATE?
Step by step instructions for updating your Ionic can be found here. We recommend updating your Ionic over a home Wi-Fi network as this can greatly reduce the time it can take to get set up. For more information on connecting your Ionic to Wi-Fi, check out this article.
If you run into trouble updating your Ionic, please follow these steps:
If anyone isn't seeing the Today app after updating, please try the following:
1. Make sure you're running the newest version of the Fitbit app.
2. Connect to Wi-Fi in the Fitbit app, plug your Ionic into the charger and let it sit. This will automatically update the Today app.
Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have questions, please let me know in this thread!

@kimbalips wrote:@Gregerator Yes, I tried a "long" swipe...slow, fast, from every angle. Nothing brings up FitBit Today. I even changed clock faces.
May be time to get in touch with fitbit support about getting a replacement device...not sure why else today wouldn't work if not a hardware issue.
EDIT: from multiple people reporting this issue it seems it may be a software bug with the update...

This update took 2 hours to "try" to update from my Pixel 2. Then it failed. I restarted / repaired as suggested. Now my Ionic firmware seems to be update to the new version. But PROBLEM - Fitbit Today features are no longer available on my Ionic!
This is unacceptable. Fitbit - what is the solution??

@lew67 Same exact thing happened to me. I even did a full factory reset...losing my music which takes HOURS to re-download. And I STILL don't have FitBit Today. 😞

Managed to install to the latest firmware without any problems. Just to share how I did it.
1. Got the update on the app.
2. Setup the Wifi connection to home Wifi through the app.
3. Plug watch in to laptop (running Win 10);
4. Turn on Bluetooth on my IPX.
5. Proceed with the update and waited between 30 to 40 minutes and update went smoothly.
6. Verified all features working ok.
Will monitor the battery for few days.

At what point should I start to worry that I haven't gotten the update yet?
I'm currently on 27.32.10.20. So I apparently missed the last update, too.

Does this update add speed to the running exercise ?
Lot of users waiting for this and it's standard on all sport and running watches!

I wouldn't be so excited... Still, NO SpO2 working. That's simply ridiculous.

I have the same problem. I updated my watch about an hour ago and I no longer have Fitbit today stats when I swipe up. Nothing happens. I've restarted my watch, restarted my phone and synced my watch several times to no avail.

Restart your watch.
As I stated above, I've done that already (more than once now). It has not solved the problem.

Formatting got funky, the email only shows you restarted your phone and synced your watch so hence my comment.
Do a factory reset, it's going to be the next thing support tells you anyways, it's their answer for everything I have contacted them for.

I contacted FitBit Support on Twitter and they told me my Android app on my phone wasn't up to date and that was causing the issue. I force stopped the app, updated it via Play Store and then went back in to My Apps where I was able to then see the Today app again. Once Today updated (on its own), things started to work again. But it took some patience!

@lew67 Perfect! That worked!! I contacted support and they wanted a video verification that I couldn't see those stats...and they still didn't offer the suggestion of updating the app. Thanks for sharing!

Since updated my Ionic syncing takes a lot of effort although the Ionic was connected according the app.And today I had to switch of the app, disconnect bluetooth and still it didn't sync. After I switched off the Ionic and connected again it finally worked.
