Fitbit Update 1/10/19:
Hi all! Big thanks to everyone for your feedback on the release of Fitbit OS 3.0!
Since the majority of users have now updated to 3.0, I will be closing this thread from further comments to help keep our community discussions on-topic.
If you are experiencing an issue outside of the firmware update process, I invite you to start a new thread on this forum and we will be happy to assist you there. Thanks again and happy stepping!
Fitbit Update 12/26:
Hey, everyone! We're aware that some of you may have noticed a fast battery drain on your Ionic watches after completing this firmware update. Our team is investigating the root cause of this issue and whether it was caused by this update or other factors are involved.
In the meantime, if you're experiencing this problem please try a restart on the device then consider switching to a Fitbit made clock face! Many 3rd party clockfaces (especially those with animations) are known to use up more battery. If you try this out and are still seeing a fast battery drain, we can connect you with Customer Support for next steps or you can reach out to them and create a case.
We look forward to getting you all back on track!
Fitbit Update 12/22:
We've released Fitbit OS 3.0 out to 100% of users. Please make sure you have the latest version of the Fitbit app (2.84) before downloading the newest firmware.
We're excited for you all to have the newest Fitbit OS, but please let us know if you have any questions about this update. Happy Holidays, everyone!
Hi, everyone!
I am excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 3.0! (Firmware Version: 27.33.1.30)
We've started to roll out this update to 20% of Ionic users. This is a progressive rollout, and all Ionic users can expect to have it soon. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
WHAT'S CHANGED?
Please check out this help article to see what's new in this update.
HOW DO I UPDATE?
Step by step instructions for updating your Ionic can be found here. We recommend updating your Ionic over a home Wi-Fi network as this can greatly reduce the time it can take to get set up. For more information on connecting your Ionic to Wi-Fi, check out this article.
If you run into trouble updating your Ionic, please follow these steps:
If anyone isn't seeing the Today app after updating, please try the following:
1. Make sure you're running the newest version of the Fitbit app.
2. Connect to Wi-Fi in the Fitbit app, plug your Ionic into the charger and let it sit. This will automatically update the Today app.
Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have questions, please let me know in this thread!

I just got my update to the Versa rolled out to me tonight, so I'm updating that now. I'll let you know how it goes.
As for the Ionic, I will check to see if I got that update tomorrow, as well as the Charge 3.
EDIT: The Versa update took about half an hour, no update for the Charge 3, checking the Ionic now.

@shastaman it is just a charging cable. It does not allow for any data transfer.

I got the update, my Ionic is on (27.33.1.30) firmware and while Today dashboard looks different, it won't let me see other stats than the previous version. When I click on Settings, it only shows Core Stats, Hourly Steps and Heart Rate. What am I missing?

Over ayear and half of ioniclaunch, and two big releases of fitbit os, from 1.0 to 3.0 and still no SpO2 sensor, neither a sleep phase alarm.
Still don't know which smartwatch is going to replace my ionic, but i know for sure that it's not going to be a fitbit

Judging by people receiving today would suggest perhaps another 20% have rolled out? Still nowt for me.

Still can't see my logged weight in the ionic.
I do not see what has changed.

Once you updated try resyncing then go big to today on the watch tap on setting you are only allowed 7 so you might need to uncheck something and the weight option is there tap to add the check for weight

12-20-2018 04:11
I have only 3 tickboxes in the Settings:
Core Stats, Hourly Steps, Heart Rate.
That doesn't add up to 7.

Make sure your phone fitbit app is up to date. Then, go into your ionic app page in the phone app and make sure the today app is up to date.

Alright well in that case, you probably just need to wait a bit for the update to the today app to get pushed to your phone and then pushed through to your fitbit. A few people have reported that leaving the app open and connected to the ionic can speed up the process, but kind of like app updates on your phone, there's no way of knowing exactly when you'll get it.
Your other option would be to try doing a hard reset on the ionic and then re-setting it up with your account. That may get you the update immediately.

@Gregerator made sure of that, too. Version 33.1.30c, updated December 20 which is today. I don't think it can get more up-to-date.

EDIT:
Hmm, in that case I don't know why they aren't appearing. You probably already did this, but have you restarted your fitbit after getting the app update?

Had an issue with the update not installing cleanly and when I would go to change the clock faces it would get stuck in a reset cycle loop. But logging out of the app, force-shutting the app down, restarting the phone and logging into the app fixed it (thx @fitbitsupport on twitter for the tip!)

This morning my Ionic took a firmware update. According to the messages on my phone, the update completed normally.
When the Ionic went to reboot, it hung, periodically showing the Fitbit logo. It has been doing that since about 6:30 this morning.
I have tried doing the factory reset sequence several times, but that has no effect.
When I release the bottom right button, there is no vibration.
I have also tried doing the factory reset while the Ionic was plugged into a USB port, with the same result.
