Fitbit Update 1/10/19:
Hi all! Big thanks to everyone for your feedback on the release of Fitbit OS 3.0!
Since the majority of users have now updated to 3.0, I will be closing this thread from further comments to help keep our community discussions on-topic.
If you are experiencing an issue outside of the firmware update process, I invite you to start a new thread on this forum and we will be happy to assist you there. Thanks again and happy stepping!
Fitbit Update 12/26:
Hey, everyone! We're aware that some of you may have noticed a fast battery drain on your Ionic watches after completing this firmware update. Our team is investigating the root cause of this issue and whether it was caused by this update or other factors are involved.
In the meantime, if you're experiencing this problem please try a restart on the device then consider switching to a Fitbit made clock face! Many 3rd party clockfaces (especially those with animations) are known to use up more battery. If you try this out and are still seeing a fast battery drain, we can connect you with Customer Support for next steps or you can reach out to them and create a case.
We look forward to getting you all back on track!
Fitbit Update 12/22:
We've released Fitbit OS 3.0 out to 100% of users. Please make sure you have the latest version of the Fitbit app (2.84) before downloading the newest firmware.
We're excited for you all to have the newest Fitbit OS, but please let us know if you have any questions about this update. Happy Holidays, everyone!
Hi, everyone!
I am excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 3.0! (Firmware Version: 27.33.1.30)
We've started to roll out this update to 20% of Ionic users. This is a progressive rollout, and all Ionic users can expect to have it soon. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
WHAT'S CHANGED?
Please check out this help article to see what's new in this update.
HOW DO I UPDATE?
Step by step instructions for updating your Ionic can be found here. We recommend updating your Ionic over a home Wi-Fi network as this can greatly reduce the time it can take to get set up. For more information on connecting your Ionic to Wi-Fi, check out this article.
If you run into trouble updating your Ionic, please follow these steps:
If anyone isn't seeing the Today app after updating, please try the following:
1. Make sure you're running the newest version of the Fitbit app.
2. Connect to Wi-Fi in the Fitbit app, plug your Ionic into the charger and let it sit. This will automatically update the Today app.
Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have questions, please let me know in this thread!

Not sure if anyone has the same feeling with me. To me, this update is a disaster.
It drains the battery overnight. From above 90% down to 14%.
When u lift up your arm to check the time, it flashes the screen non-stop until you let your arm down.
This is not a serious issue in the daytime.
But, at night when u sleep, you might bring up the clock display unconsciously and it flashes the screen all night.
When you get up, the battery low warning shows.
Updates : I found the cause of my battery draining issue. The clock face I used is NOT compatible with OS 3.0. After I download another Clock face, now my Ionic is back to normal.

I really like this update. I did have initial problems, but were resolved (not being able to see FitBit Today stats). I like the option of seeing different (my choice) stats in that app. I also really like the goals that you can set for each exercise! And, my battery actually seems to last longer with this update. Love my Ionic!

When will the SPO2 sensor be enabled? I bought this watch because of this and it was marketed as one of the features.

Is this still rolling out? I still haven't gotten the update.

Update, turning if off by pressing all the buttons worked.
Unfortunately I tried a hard reset and reinstalling the app first, which did not help.
So things are all better now. Thanks for those who responded! Have a wonderful holiday season.

I concur with Gregerator about the water entries.
Multiple entries via the "Today" interface to the Water stat this morning and yesterday. None of them are appearing in the app or dashboard. In fact, if you swipe left on the water stat, it shows the last 7 days, and none of the entries for today or yesterday appear to be counted there.
Seems like something is broken in the process.

How did you solve the problem Today. Not showing

Sleep Information fat Cardio Peak is not updated showing the data from yesterday although the clock is checked out with the application. Please fix it and make sure that you do not have to contact the application each time however the information is in the clock and not in the application should take the information in real time

everything works perfect for me. after 2 days 24/7 use and 2 runs 34% battery is left. the onky fishy thing maybe is the hr sensor. on on my first run after the update it tended to stuck on on too low hr. on the second run i was not able to detect that behavior.

I updated my firmware yesterday and when I go to log a walk, and press start, it locks up and about thirty seconds later, the watch restarts. I haven't tried it for any other activities
It is also losing time. I sync the correct time and it ends up running behind. In the space of twelve hours, the time is about twenty minutes behind the correct time
These are the only issues I've found so far, but I'm sure I'll uncover more

Fitbit Update: OS 3.0 has been pushed to 100% of users!
If you are experiencing any issues updating your Ionic, I recommend checking out the tips detailed in my lead post.
@Rolbej If anyone isn't seeing the Today app after updating, please try the following:
@NRGZ @benedikt.ebli If you are experiencing any issues getting a reliant heart rate reading, I suggest performing each of the steps detailed in this article, including performing a restart. If the issue persists, please let me know.
@SGB_13 @kdherrm @whittlebeast @RatedE If you were experiencing any issues accessing the app gallery or updating your firmware, this issue has now been resolved. You should be able to use these functions as normal.
@sytzeng Sorry to hear about your battery. I have reached out to our support team to have a case created on your behalf. They will be in touch via email.
@OldWindways Our team is currently looking into similar water logging reports. A recommended workaround would be to simply force quit the Fitbit app, and make sure you are on the most recent version. Let me know if that works.
@Gregerator Thanks for your help!

Just update via my one plus 6T ( not supported phone ) while device on my wrist ,took about 15 mins and then I could use watch after update no problem even though app was saying still updating .restarted phone and it said update available to install even though ionic was in use and updated, but then the update notification went .
Not sure what the update has brought can't tell much difference or how if you can change things ,either way a lot less painless than the last update

@MattFitbit, after restarting the Ionic and force stopping the app on my phone, it looks like today's water entries are updating (both in the app and in the Today interface). Yesterday's entries from the Today interface are not updating (or perhaps were lost?). Hopefully, this means things are good going forward.

Just finished with the update - took about 15 minutes to complete. Love the new water feature. I have my Thermos Smart Lid syncing to the app and it's nice to be able to see the stats on my wrist. I'm still delving into what's changed but it looks good.
