Fitbit Update: 9/16
Hi everyone,
We’re excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 4.0.1, available for Ionic (Firmware Version: 27.68.9.12).
We've begun releasing this new firmware to customers. This is a progressive rollout which means everyone will receive it at different stages until it has been completely released to all users. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.
WHAT’S NEW AND FIXED
This release includes bug fixes and improvements.
HOW DO I UPDATE?
Step by step instructions for updating your Ionic can be found here.
If you run into any trouble updating your Ionic, I recommend reviewing these troubleshooting tips.
We appreciate your patience while we work to roll this out to everyone.

Kwilkin1 believe you said that you were not able to get the last firmware update for your Ionic, but you are experiencing multiple problems. I also don't have the latest firmware update either by choice because when I checked the forum I saw others were having difficulties that started only after they updated their device. My Ionic works fine without it. The loss of Gmail notifications I had after the 19 Sep app update was remedied by uninstalling, then reinstalling the Fitbit app on my phone. Not sure what might be causing your issues, but it may not be lack of the latest firmware. Good luck.

Not sure about the public release but the beta release (68.9.15) is working absolutely fine on my ionic. It's smoother, has a couple of new features and been syncing fine for the last two days. Hopefully this means that Fitbit will release this version to the public soon.

I was the user for whom the WhatsApp notifications stopped after the Sept. 16 update. At the advice of some of the other posts, I uninstalled and re-installed the Android Fitbit app. This did indeed solve the notifications problem. My Ionic, post-update, is therefore fully functional.

Thank you, I actually did that with strava & Fitbit app. Nothing has changed, still hasn't uploaded my race from yesterday to strava.

My Ionic is running version 33.1.30. I haven't had a Firmware update flash on my Iphone in a while. Is this a new version and will be eventually be getting it?

Has this Firmware Release been fixed yet? My Fitbit had to be replaced because the Firmware update completely fried my Ionic. My replacement is taking well over two weeks to arrive but that is fine. I want to know that when it does finally get here that my device is going to work with this new release and I won't be in the same exact boat again.

Hi Kyla_s. I was told that I would receive my replacement Ionic in 5 to 10 days. It's been 7 days. Nothing yet.

Earlybird0624: Does your new one include the update that caused all the problems?

How are you getting a replacement? Is your watch within the 1 year warranty time? Mine was "Out of Warranty" so they won't replace mine.

Their compatible thing is just a cop out. They told my coworker his Pixel 3 was not compatible yet her Pixel was fine despite running the same software.
