Fitbit Update: 10/9
Hi everyone,
We’re excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 4.0.2, available for Ionic (Firmware Version: 27.68.9.15).
We've begun releasing this new firmware to customers. This is a progressive rollout which means everyone will receive it at different stages until it has been completely released to all users. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.
WHAT’S NEW AND FIXED
This release includes bug fixes and improvements.
HOW DO I UPDATE?
Step by step instructions for updating your Ionic can be found here.
If you run into any trouble updating your Ionic, I recommend reviewing these troubleshooting tips.
We appreciate your patience while we work to roll this out to everyone.

Can't even get the thing up update, always an issue with fitbit and updating or connecting etc. The only solution I see is restart everything lol
Always an issue with fitbit connecting.

Hello MattFitbit. I have just received the new watch that replaced the damaged one. Everything seems to work. However I don't know if it includes the update 4.02.. Also got notification of a tracker update. Please advise if IhavE the 4.0.2 and if safe to update Tracker.
Thanks

Does this version fix the WhatsApp notification issue?
Was there a need to introduce a fix that prevents devices (the Ionic in particular) from bricking, or did the respective experiences all occur due to user error?

My wallet is still not working on my ionic after the upgrade. It says no cards are loaded, but they are loaded on the app. I have deleted the app from my ionic and reinstalled it but it didn’t work. I went on my computer to try and fix it that way, but it keeps saying sign-in with Windows Hello or PIN. If I try to disable the PIN or change it on the computer the stupid Windows Hello prompt pops up and I can’t do anything. PLEASE HELP!!

The DOWNgrade bricked my Ionic. Yeah, an "upgrade" killed my Ionic.
Come on, how can an upgrade KILL a device ?

This update bricked my ionic as well. Chatted with customer support and they said since I'm out of warranty I can only get a discount on a new one. If Apple did something like this it'd be all over the news. Extremely disappointed.

Hi, I updated my ionic and at first some of the text went away, then I restarted it and all of the text went away...

I downloaded and installed the new update this evening. It loaded fine and all seemed to be working fine until it told me to connect the charging cord so that it could calibrate. I did as instructed and left it on the charger. It appears that it got to 89%, according to my app, but the screen is black and it will not wake up or connect to my app now.
What is the remedy for this?

Well for what it’s worth, mine updated and calibrated just fine. Took about 10 min total. Now just trying to figure out what is new...if anything...

I can live without the firmware upgrade. The watch was working just fine without it.
I know updates can be buggy and sometimes don't work (though Apple and Samsung seem to have a 100% perfect record) but it is completely unacceptable for a firmware update to fail and then KILL the phone.
Failed update ? Can live without it or any "New & Improved" features.
Dead Ionic ? Completely unacceptable.

Glad to hear that fitbit have an update.
But we also need Thai language, just want to read the messages in notification.
Thank you.

4.0.2 update on my Ionic proceeded normally. This one doesn't take too long. So far, everything behaves normally. No new features that I can see.

Received the upgrade tonight. Took about 20 minutes. Seems to be working just fine. There are quick settings when you swipe down Wallet, music. That is all I see that is new right now.

I no longer trust fitbit "updates" since they messed up the mobile app with the "sleep score".
What other new "feature" that noone asked for will show up on my ionic with this firmware release?

THINK TWICE BEFORE RUNNING THIS UPDATE. Ran the update and now my one year and two weeks old Ionic is bricked. Is Fitbit prepared to own up to their failing, or was this planned?

It Bricked my Ionic. Why did I run the update? I emailed customer support as my ionic is still under warranty. I work out 5 days a week and now I won't have my ionic to track them because of an update? This is ridiculous what the hell Fitbit? I do not recommend anyone out of warranty update. Completely not worth it.

Two weeks out of warranty and waiting to hear back from Fitbit. Not optimistic.
