Hi everyone,

We’re excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 4.0.2, available for Ionic (Firmware Version: 27.68.9.15). 

We've begun releasing this new firmware to customers. This is a progressive rollout which means everyone will receive it at different stages until it has been completely released to all users. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed. 

*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.

Since last update 10/9/19, I can no longer hang up when a phone call is coming in. Button displays top right corner but when I tap it, it disappears but phone continues to ring?

I have received the firmware update this afternoon.  The Ionic screen was showing the install progress and then went blank.  Cannot re-start the watch.  What do I do now?

Agree completely. Why is it so hard to publish the list of fixes? I've spent 15 minutes looking and googling and nothing.

This update appears to have destroyed my ionic.  It has just gone black I hadn't even tried to install it.  Seems like I am not alone what is Fitbit doing about this?

I received the update notification yesterday. Installed today in a few minutes on an ultra-slow 3mb connection. So far no problems.

The update also made my Ionic "unresponsive." 

After spending 45 minutes on the phone with a customer service representative, I was offered a discount to purchase a new device, since mine was out of warranty. I was not satisfied with this, and I asked to speak to a supervisor.

The supervisor eventually told me to hold down all three buttons, wait for the logo to disappear, and release just the bottom button to do a factory reset. I didn't even have to do the full reset. I just held down the three buttons and it woke up. It lost the time it was dead, but it was fine after a sync.

I was very unsatisfied after the call because I was on the phone for nearly an hour before I got a very simple fix. But at least my Ionic works...

Fitbit strikes again. My watch works fine after the update, but some text has been reduced in size so that I can no longer read it, e.g, the percentage battery life left.

All working good here, loving the new "Sleep Mode" so I don't have to turn things off on my own. Keep it up!

JoeNic, you are the bestest! Did he press all three buttons routine and my Ionic, which was stuck on Fitbit Logo for about 24 hours and it came back alive. Thanks, brother  

It ran one routine, then the update. All good. I needed to follow the supervisor’s instructions, but it worked. Thanks.

Mine did not reset even with a 3 button push

Update went ok...ish.

I updated from my android phone.

Watch says its updated but the phone still says it has an update waiting.

If I try to update a gain the watch says no (red X).

If I connect the watch to my PC it says its up to date.

Now my phone won't sync. YaY!

P.s. Why is there no number 4 in the firmware release version for FitbitOS4?

How are you supposed to know what version you are on? What does 27.68.3.15 actually mean?

Is this bug fixed? I don't see anything in the Release page suggests that the bug is fixed.

For you that has a black screen or needs to do a full factory reset. 

1.Hold all 3 buttons until the fitbit logo appears 

2. Let go of the lower right button ONLY

3. When the ionic vibrates let go of the other two

4. Should now be done and you would have a watch that is reset like it comes new.

OnePlus 7 pro on Android 10. Ionic keeps resetting every few minutes after update. No issues before. Tried different clock faces. Tried a factory reset 3 times. Still not working

3 hours to do the update (Note 10 Plus), no issues since....

We can change the icons on the new bar? My fitbit ionic the o li icons are fitbit pay, music and the active or not some options, I like to change the icon of music, for other icon...

I think, because so many people have this problem, fitbit are doing something to fix that... I so sorry for you, for me the update works very well.
