Fitbit Update: 12/5
Hi everyone!
We’re excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 4.1 (Firmware Version: 70.7.14).
We've begun releasing this new firmware to customers. This is a progressive rollout which means everyone will receive it at different stages until it has been completely released to all users. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.
WHAT’S NEW AND FIXED
The update includes a variety of new features and enhancements, including:
Smart wake: Smart wake will gently begin to wake you with subtle vibrations during the optimal part of your sleep cycle (during light or REM) within a 30-minute window prior to your pre-set alarm. This allows you to wake up feeling refreshed.
Clock face switcher: You will now be able to store up to five clock faces right on your device and quickly change from one to the other using the new clock face switcher.
On-wrist Sleep Score: The score will now be available in the on-device dashboard that can be accessed by swiping up from the clock face. You can still see it alongside your sleep data within the Fitbit app after you sync.
Exercise app improvements: The redesigned Exercise app will now display all 20 workouts in a new streamlined list on your wrist.
Battery notification: When your battery is running low, a new feature will automatically disable notification vibrations
Agenda app: A new Agenda app allows you to see your calendar right on your wrist.
For more information on the new features included in Fitbit OS 4.1 check out this article. You can also check out our press release.

I also have 70.7.14.. Maybe it’s in the Beta stage before the next firmware update arrives. I’m guessing.

You wish you don’t get it. It is a botched release and has more troubles than you want to take on!

Hi,
Just out of interest, if you turn off your replacement Fitbit via settings does it turn back on again with just a press of the left hand button?
Or..... do you have to hold the left and bottom right button for about 10 seconds for it to turn back on?

Uninstall your current app then install it again. Your data is held independently and will be on the new installation when you sign in.
Hope this helps.

My Ionic Fitbit is having a meltdown - it is currently 10 minutes behind and I can't sync it to my iPhone.
This started yesterday when it wouldn't sync to my iPhone - I reset it, I shutdown the Ionic, eventually I asked my iPhone to "forgwt" my Ionic and now the Bluetooth on my iPhone can't find it.
Please help!!

Hello - when will you fix it so that I can get my text messages from my iPhone on my watch? Why not make this fix your #1 priority? I am close to just junking this watch and going with another brand.

Must have been by now as it was issued a while ago. Go to Settings in your Fitbit watch and then About and it shows what you have on your watch.

Have you tried phoning the Customer Services as they're really helpful, sorted my problem and my Fitbit's working great again.
Often the issues seem to be with things other than the watch, as in my case I had the Fitbit app on my old phone and new phone and this was causing issues.

FitBit doesn't seem to think there is anything wrong with 70.7.14. They categorically denied (in a email chain with their customer support supervisor) that this SW update has any impact to battery performance. They think it was a coincidence that my battery performance went down 88% on the day I upgraded to this firmware (yes, by my calculations, my battery is at 12% performance right now!).
I reminded them that this occurred to many people as reported on their forum. They didn't agree!

@Craig-bit - FitBit technical support told me you can not go back on their Ionic firmware version unfortunately.
My battery life went from 5 days to 15 hours with this firmware update. FitBit doesn't think it is their firmware - they think coincidentally my battery (and many others' battery) just "happen" to lose most of it's capacity at the exact time they rolled out an update. Go figure!
