Will Fitbit partner with banks in South Africa? FNB in particular?

Hey, everyone!

I have some great news! We have recently added the following bank for South Africa:

• FNB (Visa)

If your bank has not been added yet, please create a Feature Suggestion pertaining to the specific bank you would like to see available for Fitbit Pay and we will begin tracking it. Smiley Happy

When will Fitbit Pay be available in South Africa?

@baileybeat Welcome to the Fitbit Community! Good question!

I was checking the list of supported countries for Fitbit Pay and South Africa is not listed yet. I do not have an answer as to when it will be added or if it will be added. Please stay tuned to that list for any changes.

The best thing I can recommend here is to post your idea as a suggestion on the Feature Suggestions Board. That way users can vote for the idea and make it popular!

Hope this helps. Let me know if you create the suggestion! Smiley Happy

It's great to have you here @Izak12. Fitbit is always trying to add new banks to the list. The best place to make your voice heard is our Feature Suggestion board, just make sure you post the name of the bank you want to be added and people will vote and comment on your idea.

Hope this helps!

Is Fitbit pay not available on the Fitbit Versa in South Africa? I'm trying to set it up on my watch but there's nowhere to enter my card details into on the app.

A warm welcome to the Community @ChelsTibs.

Fitbit Pay works with many of the major credit and debit cards from the top banks and card issuers around the world. To check if your card is supported, see the Fitbit Pay Bank List.

We’re working with more issuing banks to support Fitbit Pay. If you don’t see your bank or card issuer listed, check back soon. Note that some cards from participating banks might not be supported in Fitbit Pay. Contact your bank or issuer for more information.

I hope this helps, let me know if you need anything else. Robot Happy

Hi Alejandra. My bank is listed as one of the banks that is supported. However there is no option on my fitbit app for me to set up my card. I'm thinking maybe it's not supported as a whole in South Africa yet?

Before you can set up your card up you need to set a phone lock and a lock on your watch. Once that is done the app will let you enter your card details.

Once you have done those two locks, go back to the wallet tilenin the app and select it and tap the red Get Started at the bottom of the 'pay with your wrist' information  page.

Hi. Check The user manual ( page 63 ), it might be useful.

However I can not see South Africa listed yet in the bank list. This might be the reason you are not able to add your credit card.

Hi there, also have the Versa in S.A . Nowhere is there an option to add my card as i have no wallet option on my Versa'a settings.I think this is a South- African problem.

Hi Blacque

I am aware of that. If you look on the back of your watch and it says Fitbit pay then it is compatible with Fitbit pay. Mine has that and I’m now can see the Fitbit pay option on the app however as of yet they don’t support any South African banks.

DO we know when Standard BAnk will work ?

I didn't see FNB's announcement and absentmindedly tried adding Fitbit pay on my Ionic the other day.

I was so stoked when it went through! 🙂

Now I literally ask every tiller whether they have tap-and-go so I can use Fitbit pay rather than pulling out my wallet ...now if only more shops can start accepting wireless payment
