Fitbit Pay shuts down when updating credit card info

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Every time I enter my pin, so I can update my credit card info, it shuts down and says it can't connect to fitbit and fails. It doesn't matter what platform I try to use, Android, iOS or Windows 10. Anyone else having this problem? Or know a fix?

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @Jimdmd! Hmmm... strange my friend, I haven't had this issue so far.

I'd recommend the following:

  • Restart your Ionic
  • Restart bluetooth
  • Force Sync
  • Try to enter your PIN

Give this a shot and let me know how it goes!

Hey there @messnakey, thanks for stopping by and for trying the suggestions shared here. Nice way to go!

To a remove or delete a card:

  1. From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap or click the Account icon > your device image.
  2. Tap or click the Wallet tile.
  3. Find the card you want to delete.
  4. Tap or click Remove Card. The card is removed from Fitbit Pay and can no longer be used to make payments with your watch.
  5. Sync your watch to remove the card image from your screen.

If you enter an incorrect PIN code 10 times, you're prompted to unlock your Fitbit watch with your paired phone. For instructions, see How do I use the device lock on my Fitbit watch?

As an aside note, after resetting your PIN code, you must add your cards to Fitbit Pay as if you were setting it up for the first time.

Hope this helps. Keep me in the loop!

Thanks for the details @messnakey! Let's try the following:

  1. Unpair your Ionic.
  2. Unpair from Bluetooth both Ionic and Ionic (classic).
  3. Force quit the Fitbit app.
  4. Turn off the Bluetooth.
  5. Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  6. Turn on the Bluetooth.
  7. Setup your device again.
  8. If there is no connection, restart your Fitbit Ionic.

If you can't get started with your Fitbit device, usually a missing requirement is the cause. Carefully review the requirements below:

  • Note that you can't set up your Fitbit device from your phone or tablet's Bluetooth screen; you must open the Fitbit app and follow the on-screen instructions.
  • The software on your phone or tablet is up to date. To see if an update is waiting to be installed:
    • iOS—Tap Settings > General > Software Update.
    • Android—Tap Settings > About Phone or About Device > Android Version.
    • Windows 10—Tap or click Start > Settings > Update & security.
  • The Bluetooth setting on your phone or tablet is on. To find it:
    • iOS—Tap Settings > Bluetooth.
    • Android—Tap Settings > Connections > Bluetooth.
    • Windows 10—Click or tap Settings > Devices > Bluetooth.
  • (Android only) Double-check the following information about your phone or tablet:

After making sure about that, try setting up your Ionic again.
