Pretty much as per the subject, how are people selling these so cheaply? From comments on other posts you can see that people have had their very cheap purchases delivered so it's not like he's just taking peoples money and running away.
What's the catch because there must be one?
Thanks

If it's shipped from Fitbit then they must be an authorised seller and why would Fitbit be shipping items that aren't covered by warranty?
Do staff from Fitbit look at questions on this forum and if so, are they able to confirm that the guy is an authorised seller?

@WavyDavey It does say with online tracking from Fitbit
"Fitbit ionic now back in stock. Delivered to your door with online tracking from fitbit. Just let me know your strap size and colour."
I still would not trust it

I see here at least two things that I don't trust:
1. Dodgy supplier
2. Fitbit Ionic
Not sure which one I don't trust more.

The plot thickens, there are now screenshots on there showing the tracking from Fitbit.
Is there a catch? How do I ask Fitbit forum moderators to confirm that guy is legit?

@ralphmiller, to bring it to the attention of the moderators, click Flag on your original post, then in the text box ask for an explanation.
Screenshots mean very little to me. Something doesn't smell right about it.

Thanks for your participation in the Community, @ralphmiller, @t.parker and for the input, @WendyB and @WavyDavey.
I appreciate the information and link provided but unfortunately, I wasn't able to open it.
Regarding your inquiry, we as Fitbit have our own policies and prices, you can check them here. Now about the retailers, they have their own policies and also prices, which you can check at their pages.
If there is anything else we can help you with, do not hesitate to post it. 🙂

Oh, that doesn't really answer anything.
Odd that the link wouldn't open for you as it works fine, perhaps try a different browser? Or if you're still unable to open the link, could you ask a different moderator to take a look at it so they can tell us if everything is above board?
It appears that the person selling them at approximately half the RRP is not a retailer, they're shipped direct from fitbit though.
My only questions are about the incredibly cheap fitbits being offered on facebook but if you can't open the link then you're not going to be able to help.☹️

Yeah Davey, I thought that as well, it's certainly odd. On the other hand, that's kind of between him and fitbit, they're the ones shipping it to his customers so it's up to fitbit how they charge resellers / retailers / facebook people selling them really cheaply. For it to be a replacement I presume that you first have to return your broken one.
It's very intriguing, the fact they're shipped from fitbit is what makes it really odd. Hopefully @AlejandraFitbit will be able to ask another moderator to take a look at the for sale advert and let us know.
The whole thing is all very confusing, you'll be pleased to know that I haven't placed an order with the guy and won't be unless someone from fitbit says that it's all above board and legit. I don't know, if it wasn't right then I'd expect them to have been interested in it but it's Monday now so people will be back in the office. 🙂
