Fitbit ionic comparability with Motorola g4 plus

I have received a Fitbit Ionic today for Xmas. I have a Motorola g4 plus but my phone doesn't seem to be syncing with my Fitbit. Is my phone compatible?

@DianeShannon Welcome to the Fitbit family! I was checking the list of supported devices and the one you mentioned is not there. Please try these syncing troubleshooting steps, I have a Moto G4 and it works (not listed as well). If after doing that it is still not working, best thing to do is to sync with a computer or a supported device.

End result is it is compatible with my Motorola G4 plus. Had to plug it into the main computer to sync with my phone. Apparently these phones have Bluetooth issues & this needs to be sorted first, I got my son to do it!

I haven't put music on it yet & I don't get notifications from my phone alerting me to calls/txts but it's early days!

@DianeShannon Thanks for your reply and for sharing your experience with us. I'm glad that you were able to sync with that phone. I'm sure compatibility will be better each day with these phones.

Have you tried setting the notifications? They work for me. Please check this article and follow the steps there. You can ask your son to help you out as well! 

Check this other article to get the steps for music. I'm curious to know if that will work for your phone!

I have the Moto G4 Plus and the Ionic worked just fine for me.

BUT I had the same issue you are having when I had the Fitbit Blaze, I had to use the laptop to update the firmware.

Hi,

would Fitbit program the BT connection correct they don't need the list of compatible!

My wife is using Motorola g6 play and this works like my Samsung Galaxy S7, no problem.

Quick connection! In the past I have had Samsung A5, also no problem.

But make sure not to use some optimizing tools, they kill Fitbit. 😞

After reinstalling on my old A5 everything is OK, again. 😉
