Fitbit showing too many steps overnight since firmware update

I've updated my tracker recently. Today morning I picked my ionic tracker to see that 60k+ steps being added. I'm unsure what to do with this issue. Every time left the watch idle, few K of steps being added continuously. I tried restarting the device but it didn't help. Can someone help me with this issue?

I experienced this problem in the past but somehow it went away, not quite sure what fixed it. I think some other forum members mentioned the cause of the problem for them was leaving the device on a computer or in front of a fan. The small vibrations were enough to cause the device to register steps. Do you leave your Ionic in a location that could possibly be picking up similar vibrations?

I left it on top of my refrigerator and I have left many times in the past like that. I would expect that a product of such renowned brand underwent several quality tests not to pick sort of things. But I'm unsure still as I left it on undisturbed place today but still showing 2k + steps in morning. I think we have to wait for fitbit to come up with a solution. I suspect its due to latest firmware update.
