Free 10-minute ab workout gone and now is a Premium workout :(

I've been having issues getting my +$300 Fitbit Ionic to consistently display the free 10-minute ab workout as a workout option.

After hitting a wall on this issue last November and running out of motivation to get this working I've finally got the energy, time and general motivation to get my 10-minute ab workout working, I see that there is a premium 10-minute ab workout in the Fitbit Coach app.

It seems I am now forced to give Fitbit more money for a really basic workout that I was told was a free workout (and can reference old posts in which Fitbit staff say this is a free workout).

More frustrated than ever,

Jesse

What issue do you have?

I have just looked at the Coach app on my Ionic and the 10 minute ab work out started without any issues.

Can you explain what happens when you run that app on your watch?

When I open the Fitbit Coach all on my Android phone I see that the 10-minute an workout is a paid workout. See attached screenshot.

On my Fitbit Ionic screen I see three workouts with no abdominal option. See picture.Screenshot_20190114-063951.png

I wonder if the default 3 workouts have been overwritten by the options in the Coach phone app. Anyone else know if this is how it works?

I have the same 3 I have always had on the Ionic:

I had this problem too. I was using the default 7-minute workout and then installed the Coach App. This changed all the workouts on the Ionic to ones I did not want similar to what was shown earlier. I could not find an option to select which ones should be on the watch. The only way I got it back was to delete the Coach App on both the phone and watch and then reinstall the Coach App onto the watch. This gave me the defaults back.

Thanks @TiRider!

I basically did what you said last night. I uninstalled the Fitbit Coach app from my phone all together, removed the Coach app from my Ionic, and re-installed the Coach App on the Ionic. I never re-installed the Fitbit Coach app on my phone.

The super weird thing is I got the default workouts back after re-installing the Coach App on the Ionic last night however at the gym this morning I went to do the 10 minute ab workout and it wasn't there. The three I see are: Get Moving 18m, Get Moving 16m, Alpine Blitz.

I've got an email going with the next tier of customer support they've had me disconnect the FItbit Coach App from my Fitbit account. That didn't fix it. Now they're asking me to 'complete' all my current workouts. I technically haven't started any of these workouts before so I whatevs. Right now I'm at a cafe shaking my fitbit around pretending to complete workouts. The workouts are aren't changing after syncing. Still in email with tech support.

This is pretty dumb.

Thanks for reaching out though TiRider!

Been trying to get them back for a month.  I have done what was posted and even deleted the fitbit app and defaulted the Ionic still reverts back to personalized workouts.  Once you connect the fitbit coach accout with your fitbit account it seems like no going back.  I'm tempted to make a complete new account which would suck.  Fitbit it should not be this difficult!!!!

I had the same issue long ago but eventually rolled back. I found another recent topic under Android app section and particularly this post that might help you.

Thanks @SigRossi and all those who posted.

What SigRossi wrote is correct. I was in touch with support throughout the process and they deleted my Coach account. It was only after the app was removed on phone and Ionic and the account was deleted that I could re-install the Coach app on my Ionic. I am not going to install the Coach App on my phone and will not create an account again.

Thanks all!

I did all this account was removed from Fitbit Coach customer service kept telling me it could not be reversed now Fitbit Coach will not reinstall.  Any ideas?  It just keeps going back and fourth then to the install prompt.

I’m pretty sure what’s on your ionic matches what’s on your dashboard. The suggested workouts on your dashboard change based on your progression through the workout program. If you don’t have the premium account the free ones would stay on your watch unchanged. The steps above probably just reset your progress in the workout back to the beginning which would bring it back to the free ones.
