Hi there,
I know there are articles on this problem already, but as I've totally factory reset the Fitbit Ionic and the problem is still happening, I'm at a loss of what to do next.
This problem has only started recently.

I'm in training for a half marathon so distance times etc are important to me. I am running to work, in open/ suburban areas. Saturday's long run was also in open/ suburban areas, I ran up one of the local mountains and gps still had issues connecting. Usually about 6kms into the run.
I always restart the watch before each run. After the first gps issue, I read the forums and following answers posted, I used the factory reset option on the Ionic. I reinstalled the fitbit app on my iPhone 8, iOS 11.4.1 to setup/ update the Ionic. I restarted the watch before my recent run yet the same issue happened.
Second time: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ub--5rftN7qrsRh2EhFdtqo5EayaTcmm/view?usp=sharing
Any ideas on what to do next?

A question - is this run on the same route each time?
Another - I assume you are using the built in GPS on the Ionic?
A suggestion. Try using connected GPS. Open the app and tap on the exercise tile and then on the upper right look for the stopwatch and tap that. Select run and wait for the phone GPS to connect then start your run.
If the phone GPS works and the Ionic continues to fail then it points to the GPS unit of the Ionic as the issue perhaps a hardware issue.
