Hi there,
I've just been for a run and GPS failed to connect. It's very frustrating because without it the tracking is not going to be accurate. Also, it won't link to Strava without it.
Now is this because of the location I'm running in, or is it something I can do with the Ionic, is it the weather?
I'm stuck. Any help would be appreciated.
Joel

Joel;
There are any number of factors which could affect the successful GPS lock for the Ionic. Weather can certainly be a cause (heavy cloud cover, heavy rain, etc) as well as your surroundings (heavy tree cover, tall buildings, etc). If you are starting your run from a location quite remote from previous runs, the Ionic may take extended time to get GPS lock as well (anywhere from a minute to 10 minutes I've seen mentioned).

@Joelyba there are factors affecting GPS connection however with Ionic I observe that things not going as smooth as with other hardware. Putting my Suunto watch and Ionic side-by-side the Suunto connects instantly while for Ionic it takes from couple of seconds to never ( not establishing connection at all happened several times to me ). Considering that both devices are working in the same environment factors like trees or clouded sky seem to be meaningless ( especially that in my town there are no any tall obstructions but Ionic has problems with connection ).

Again, I'm very grateful for your reply. I too find it odd as I have friends with other brands and their GPS is fine in the same locations as I've tried the Ionic.
As much as I like the Ionic, reading these forums is rather concerning. I'm going to keep an eye on these threads as Fitbit operatives routinely reply with rather generic, but acknowledging responses.
I wonder if the volume of issues reported will prompt Fitbit to exercise some good will with regards Ionic customers. I know there is only so much they can do.
