Getting "Notification service is not running" on the app

My fitbit ionic isn't giving notications on the watch or showing calls when anyone rings.

On checking my fitbit app on the phone it has the message below on the phone. I have searched for answers and I have tried everything from restarting the phone. Restarting the watch. Removing the app from the phone then reinstalling. Clearing the cache.

once I remove the app and reload it the watch works for roughly 4 hours. Then it just goes back to the same issue.

This is really annoying so

Please can anyone help as for a £250 watch not having any notifications or calls go to the watch it is just an expensive step counter.

My mobile is a huawei p30 lite.

@Paulaky2878 Hi there. Thanks for the screenshot attached and the troubleshooting performed prior to posting.

I appreciate the research done and for mentioning the phone model. We’re aware of it and are working to identify a resolution as quickly as possible. We're sorry for any trouble. We appreciate your patience and look forward to getting you back on track.

Thanks for your understanding.

Hi Do we have a rough time line to this resolution, as I saw it was a fault a while back for other phone user and couldnt see any fixes for there issues so I don't want to just be waiting for months on the hope of a fix, as like I said it is very disappointing to have an expensive watch that basically just tells me the time and my steps.

I just exchanged my watch to make it my 3rd fitbit Ionic watch in 3 years about 6 months ago as my previous 2 watches the GPS stopped working when I was running so it didn't pick up my running.

I was going to change from a fitbit to a different brand but I really like the app and the stuff that it does, but with this latest issue I am starting to feel hard done by.

please can someone find a resolution or would it be best to return it again.

@Paulaky2878 Thank you for getting back. I understand the importance of receiving notifications on your Fitbit Ionic.

At the moment, I don't have a time frame about when this will be resolved. However take into consideration that our team is aware of this and working to identify a resolution as soon as possible.

Have a nice day.

Hi is there any update yet as I have already waited many months for this fix and I have waited nearly another month since we last messaged as we last spoke on the 17th of Feb

I understand the team are working on a fix and the team are aware and working to identify a resolution. but this is taking to long.

I remove the app and restart my watch and my phone and again for around 6 hours it works but then like every other time it returns to having a notification fault.

also I purchased my Fitbit watch on the 17th of April 2020 and with this fault of the watch not receiving notifications can I send the watch back as it is not really fit for purpose if it wont do the most important features it advertises it does.

the watch isn't cheap so I don't want to just have a watch that counts my steps, I want one that does what it is supposed to do.

please can you advice me of:

1. is the fix ever going to happen.

2. with it being only 10 months old can I return it back with the fault being that Fitbit cant fix the notification fault.

thanks and regards
