Gmail Notifications truncated and sometimes not?

This morning I woke up and all my Gmail notifications contained almost the entirety of the body of the emails (after tapping; like text messages).  Every other time, I think, Gmail notifications are very truncated.  

 

Any idea why?  I don't think it's because of the update.  

 

Anyone else notice this happening?

I am having a similar problem with both text messages and gmail notifications. 

Only half a line of the subject is displayed for gmail. Text messages, only say "New Message". and do not display any of the message when clicking on the message. 

I am using a Samsung Galaxy S7 with my ionic.
