I'm pretty lazy to go searching for that. But I bet if you post a link to the post ...more people would be willing to do so just for the ease of convienence

There are times when a chest strap is essential.   For walking/running/etc, anything steady state, an optical heart rate tracker does fine.   You throw in weights and any other kind of functional fitness, it will go to crap.   Hoping someones does make connecting a chest strap a reality to the Ionic.

Right now, Fitbit does not allow apps to access Bluetooth. And Fitbit does not allow importing HR. It is simply not possible for 3rd parties to add support for chest straps. 

 

For this his to be supported, Fitbit will need to add the feature, or open up HR/Bluetooth to developers.
