Hi everyone, wanted to post this in case it may help folk out there who's fitbit died after the latest firmware update. My device stopped syncing about a month ago however the device seemed to be working fine, so I could see all my data capture on the watch but nothing getting captured in either my mobile or desktop apps, so pretty much useless. I spent about an hour on support chat who tried everything to get it working; mostly attempting to add it back as a new device, but it can't failing not accepting my device. I was finally told nothing else could be done and that they'd give me 25% on a new product (INSULTING!!)
Not sure why exactly it worked but this is what I did.... pressed all three buttons for a long time, like 2-3 minutes. It seemed to completely shut down the device. I didn't turn it back on but ratter put it on the charger as is for an entire day. Once turning it on it appeared to have reset itself somehow, asking for re-calibration of settings and such upon which I took the sequence of steps to add a new device. The add-new sequence worked as expected and the fitbit is up and running and connected to my mobile and desktop apps. The interface doesn't seem to be the same so it must have booted up with some new firmware update, but no biggie. So in the end I only have a missing window of data of about 3 weeks or so. Good luck and I hope it works for some of you.

@billycoolcat It's nice to see you on the Community.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share the procedure that helped you get your watch back on track. I'm sure this could help others on the forum who might be experiencing the same.
Hope I can continue seeing you around! 😀
