I’ve seen this posted before, but most posts were requesting to be able to turn off the green light permanently. However, I just recently noticed that my Ionic’s green light will never turn off, even when I’m not wearing the device. It has turned off when not wearing it over the past 6 months until now.
In addition to that, it’s displaying a heart rate while sitting on the table in front of me (again, I’m not wearing the device).
I have restarted the device (holding two buttons) about 10 times, adjusted the HR setting from On to Off a few times, and shut it down (Settings > About > Shutdown) a few times as well. The green light is still constantly on and it’s still reading a heart rate that keeps changing even while not on my wrist.

A warm welcome to the Community @olsonkr. Thanks for the details mentioned and the troubleshooting tried.
I appreciate that you've done some research before contacting us. Regarding your heart rate lights that are continuously flashing it's expected behavior, you can turn off the heart rate setting to preserve battery life on your device. However, LEDs on the back of your device will continue to flash.
You mentioned that your Ionic is displaying heart rate information even when you're not wearing it, this shouldn't be happening. Please restart your watch and continue checking the data.
Let me know how it goes.

The green light remaining on was only a bit of an annoyance, but the HR displaying data even when not wearing it was odd. Especially that it was changing!
It ended up sorting itself out. I had restarted my device numerous times, but decided to try shutting it down (Settings > About > Shutdown) and left it off all night. I turned it on in the morning and wore it throughout the day. When I took it off in the evening I noticed the green light turned off as expected when setting the device down.
Thanks!
