My heart rate gets elevated by 50 bpm when I sit through the "Treasure Chest" program of the "Coach" app.
I discovered this while trying to figure out the exercises in the program. Even though I was just sitting through the exercises, my Ionic would show that my HR increases by up to 50 bpm. I've tried this a few times to confirm and when I sync to the app, it shows my heart rate increasing during each exercise of the program and dropping during rests.
Does anyone else have this problem? Why is this happening?

I have seen my HR in any exercise mode ramp up beyond my actual response, then drop and finally land in a reliable range. This occurs in roughly 10 minute increments (my workouts are typically 30-45 min). There are some indications that the HR algorithm adapts to you over-time, but if that is the case, no transference from my Blaze readings over 2 years played into the Ionic's measurement.

My ionic is completely new though 😕 so it shouldn't have any past data?

Mine too. See this post where I wore my old blaze and new in mic simultaneously during workouts. Once the ionic was erratic and in the second test normal.

I would suggest you check your wrist fit and make sure it’s snug without cutting off circulation.
