Has anyone in the UK got Fitbit pay to work with Boon by wire card ?

As the title suggests I've been going round and round in circles trying to get fitbit pay to work !

Like most people in the UK my bank isn't listed as working with Fitbit pay so I decided to register with boon as it looked simple, pity about the monthly fee though. Creating a boon card was simple and I thought the rest would be easy ......

Well try as I might, and believe me I've wasted hours trying it goes through the rigmarole of registering card, the acceptance stuff and then bombs out with "some of the card details  you supplied were incorrect" !

Its infuriating, I've contacted support at boon with screenshots and details, no response, checked and checked the details match, including capital letters but still the same error ?

Anyone had the same and found a solution or has anyone actually got it to work ?

Accepted Solutions

It works !!!! Yay !!!!

When registering your card in the Fitbit app you need to advance the expiry year by 1 e.g. if it was 2021 then put in 2022 and hey presto !!!!

The boon app is due an update in February when they can hopefully fix this .

It's great to see you around @james1972! Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with Fitbit Pay in the UK.

I was checking the bank list and Boon is listed there. I would like you to make sure that you've followed this procedure to properly set up Fitbit Pay on your Ionic.

If you haven't tried the following, please perform it:

Hope this helps. I'll  be around if you need anything else.

Thanks for the response

I've deleted the app (several times), reset my ionic (several times), factory reset it but still the same.

The problem is I can't get the card to register..........

The steps I go through.

1. Select Wallet from the APP (its on a iphone 5S) - touch ID - OK

2. Cycle through the welcome and teaser about how its all secruity and happy ! - click on get started - OK

3. Enter card details, check, doudle check, triple check - ok

4. Check address exactly matches the card details - ok - click next

5. Adding card .... "securly verifying ..." ok

6. Screen then comes up with a "T&C's page for the Wirecard boon mobile payment service (note the T&C's keep repeating 'Apple Pay on an Ios device', not sure if this is relevant or not ?

7. Click 'Agree' and it then erorrs as below picture.

I'm really frustrated with this, please can someone help ?

Thanks for getting back @james1972! I appreciate the screenshot that you've attached as well for continue troubleshooting this with me.

This is pretty weird because Boon is listed as a supported bank. In this case, I would highly recommend to ask to your bank if the card that you're using has any restrictions that could be preventing it to be added.

Thanks for mentioning that you're using and iOS device.

Let me know the outcome.

I spoke with boon customer support this morning, their technical department have been looking into this for a few days but no answer yet.

Has anyone successfully linked their boon card to Fitbit Pay ?

Well boon technical support got back to me today ....

Our technical department reported us that the iPhone 5s is not eligible for Apple Pay, which means that your boon. card cannot be activated. Therefore Fitbit Pay does not recognise it either.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this might have caused you.

Does this sound right I never thought you would have to have an up to date phone to use Thisbe feature ????
