Hello all

I am currently having an issue where my Fitbit Ionic is refusing to link to my profile, this is after removing the device from my profile due to a problem where the Ionic wasn't syncing to my phone correctly and was constantly losing the track of the time.

The Fitbit Ionic is currently on the latest firmware (FitbitOS 4.1) with version 27.70.7.14 installed, I have noticed that since installing this update on my watch, I have been having problems that I wasn't experiencing with previous updates such as FitbitOS 4.0.1 etc.

I have also tried the following steps to try and get the Ionic to re-sync to my phone

  • Factory reset of the Fitbit Ionic
  • Factory reset of my Samsung Galaxy S8
  • Uninstalled & reinstalled the Fitbit application
  • Turned on and off Bluetooth on my phone
  • Restarted my phone
  • Made sure that my Fitbit is fully charged and is close to the phone
  • Pressed the left and bottom right-hand side buttons to perform a hard reset of the Ionic The Fitbit Ionic is currently on the latest firmware 27.70.7.14The Fitbit Ionic is currently on the latest firmware 27.70.7.14Here you can see the time difference, the phone is displaying the correct time. This is what happens when I try and get my Fitbit Ionic linked up to my profile

I was wondering if anyone is experiencing the same problem with the Fitbit Ionic after installing the FitbitOS 4.1 firmware update. I have only had this Ionic since September as I got it as a replacement due to my Fitbit Blaze developing a fault with the left-hand side button.

Hi, I have the same problems after the update? Can you share the solution or feedback from customer support. After following all instructions it is fine for one synchronization... And then the same issue 😞

Thanks

At the moment I am still having the problem with my Ionic, I am still going through the process of trying to get the problem resolved with Fitbit support.

So far they have mentioned the following

  • Making sure that the Fitbit application doesn't have any background restrictions or limits
  • Turning off battery optimization of the Fitbit application

They have also provided me links to the following pages
https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/2047

Why can't I set up my Fitbit device?

What should I know about using the Fitbit app on my Android phone?

However, none of those steps managed to resolve my issue with syncing of my Galaxy S8 to my Ionic. Since I have done this post I have managed to get my Ionic connected to my Fitbit profile however when trying to get the Ionic synced to my phone it says No Device found. Like what you have said in your reply I do get the occasional sync but it is not continuous at the moment I am getting around one sync a day if I am lucky.

Hopefully, I can get this problem resolved

The problem is the update that was pushed on/around 12/5-12/12 this update is causing everyone issues, I have directly called them and they "CLAIM" they are aware of the problem and the programmers are "WORKING" on it. Too bad they didnt think of taking the prior WORKING firmware and putting it up so thatwe can all get our watches to work again, no they would rather blame your phone or something you have or have not done, its the update that was pushed, and until they fix or put the prior firmware in place its not getting fixed by playing with anything, I have been doing this for 3 days trying to get it to sync with the bluetooth and work, its useless.

Just had the same kind of reply from Fitbit support saying that they are aware of the problem and they are working on getting a solution.

However no time frame so who knows when it will be fixed. Looks like I have got no option to deal with it for the time being

This is the second time for me in the last 6 months.  I've had my ionic for just at a year now and am ready to give up on my waste of money.  I'm looking for advice on a better brand

Well, it seems that my Fitbit Ionic stopped working completely, decided to not even sync at all after December 20th. I did a factory reset of the device on the 24th and the Fitbit application isn't even detecting the device any more. Luckily Customer Support has ordered a replacement for me and let's hope that fixes my issue. 🙂

i got the same problem recently and it hasn't been able to sync.

my phone is able to find the bluetooth connection to the ionic and it shows as connected,

but when i let the fitbit app search for the device it doesnt find it.

im not sure how they can fix it, if the firmware doesn't get downloaded from phone since the phone can't find my ionic.

what makes it worse is fitbit support is limited due to the covid19.

😞
