Heart rate issues with ionic

Someone please tell me how to make this Fitbit track my heart rate accurately. I've had so many issues with this thing it's sad but this is something that I need as I work out often. Please don't say factory reset I've already had them tell me to do too to fix other issues and while it worked for a moment on those I'm not wanting to do it again.

Sadly, this is a common issue. I called FitBit support and they added me to an existing issues ticket months ago.  I’ve never gotten a response or update. The resting heart rate seems to be okay, but when I run it’s wildly inaccurate. I have rest it and varied how tight and high I wear it to no avail. I wish I would have known this before I spent $300.

Me also. They sent me some crazy thing on how to hold your arm to get the
most accurate rate while working out and everything. They've done anything
they can to get me to keep it until the warranty is up. I will be looking
in to another brand next time. To me it's just too much for a watch and I
call it that because all it does is tell time and sometimes not even that.
I have constant syncing issues, clock face issues, heart rate issues and it
turns off and back on at random or regerts back to the day I set it up at
12 for a few hours

Hi guys @anitramkent0222 and @ClaireT2! Thank you all for your feedback in regard to Ionic HR readings. As you were told by our support team, I can assure that this information has been forwarded to our product team for review.

If you are experiencing any inconsistencies with your HR monitor, I recommend following some of the best practices detailed in this article

If you are experiencing any specific issues with your Ionic, I invite you to start a new thread and I would be happy to assist you there.

Additionally, we will be sure to keep you updated on any potential changes/improvements that may be implemented in future firmware releases for our watches.

Thanks again! If you have any questions, let me know.

Has this issue been fixed?!?!?! My fitbit ionic readings are all over the place. They will one day be in the 60s which is my normal and then the watch will freak out for a while and record HR from 90 to 125 if it is not stuck at 88. I'm not happy with my product and was told I was added to the ticket. Is this issue ever going to be resolved? Is it truly a software issue or do I have a bad watch. None of my old watches did this.

Sadly, it’s never going to be fixed! I was added to that ticket about a year ago!!! My resting heart rate reads normal; it’s the heart rate when I go for a run that out of wack! It’ll read around 193 to 208 beats a minute. It that was true, I would be DEAD. I have reset it, adjusted where it sits on my wrist, tightened the band...it doesn’t make a difference. This is my 3rd Fitbit with HR readings, so I know what it used to be running.

I’m in a couple of online running groups and when people ask what fitness watch to get, I always warn them about the Ionic. My next watch will be a Garmin Viviactive 3. I’m soooo disappointed in FitBit’s lack of addressing this issue.

Thanks! I will look at them for my next watch since this one sucks!  They won't even deal with the issue by sending you another unit or returning the money paid for the watch. Too bad as I really like fitbit. They are the only company I have used so maybe it is time to look elsewhere.

Me too! I have been with Fitbit since 2015, but my next watch will be a Garmin.

I’m in the same position and Garmin often come up as the best value trackers on the market without looking into buying actual medical resources. They often state that the information is in regards to general guidelines but when my ionic says one thing and the app another I, personally, can’t afford that kind of margin especially as the information gathered was to aid in providing evidence to overturn a potential misdiagnosis.

Mine is still wayyyyy off and I often have to move it around on my wrist
the entire time I am working out because it'll be close to right then all
of a sudden way off. The other times I just workout and don't even worry
about it. It's hard to get a accurate calorie burn and is basically a step
counting watch because that's all it does most of the time.
