Hello

I am new here.

Name:  Marius from the Netherlands

Have the ionic for 14 days now.

Main goal : use the HR for biking exersises.

Have some problems with the HR at lower speeds up to 22kmh.

Example low speed

With a city bike this morning the HR was not realistic:

Distance 4,4 km average speed 11,5 kmph 23,12 min  average HR 131 ?

Polar H7 average HR 86 ?

Example racebike

Racebike this afternoon Distance  60,71 km average speed 24,3 kmh average HR 122

The polar H7 was the same

I did more rides with the same results

City bike HR much to High

Race bike perfect.

Thanks for getting back and share me with your support case @MariusH. Sorry to hear you had a foot problem and due to this you're more comfortable with the cycling activity instead. Hope you heal soon!  Send yo my best wishes to you my friend, I know how bad is to have injuries and it gets worse when you are an active person.

I've shared your Community post with the support team. In this instance, my best recommendation is to keep the conversation with our team. They have more tools to review and check along with you.

In the meantime, I suggest sticking to the tips and recommendations provided in the hear rate article I have shared above.

Ping me out if you need further assistance.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @MariusHThanks for sharing this with us. How are you wearing your watch? When doing high intensity workouts it is recommended to wear the watch high up your wrist. From 2 to 3 fingers from your wrist bone should be fine. Also, it is needed for the tracker to be loose on your wrist. If it is too tight, there may be inaccuracies.

Please check this article for more details.

Give this a shot and let me know the outcome!

Hi

I already had contact with the support team.
They accept the problem.
Frustrating is the outcome.
No time scale.
As I have a foot problem I cannot run.
So the city bike exercises are important.
I like to return the ionic.
How can we arrange this with the reseller.
Please help
Thank you in advance.
Met vriendelijke groeten.
Regards

Marius

Hi Marius,

Thanks for providing us with details regarding the test you performed between the Fitbit Ionic and your friend's Polar H7. We'll be glad to continue assisting you regarding the heart rate accuracy of your watch while biking.

Currently, we do not have a time frame for this issue to get solved, however, out engineer department is constantly working towards the improvement of your devices. Also, regarding your question, please take into account that the Versa uses the same technology as the Ionic for heart rate tracking called PurePulse.

Please let us know if in the meantime you have any additional questions or there's something else we can help you with. Hope you're enjoying the day!
