Heartrate resting and running

Had the Ionic for a while now and noted that there are some issues with resting and running.  I have a resting rate of under 50 and the Ionic generally has me sitting 70-80.  Last 3 days it would sit over 100. Searching the forums I tried turning the HR off and on, reset the watch and whilst it looks marginally better, it’s still about 20bpm off.  It’s sitting at the correct distance from the wrist etc, not too tight... Manually checking my HR just now has me at 51bom and the Ionic has me at 78.

going for runs it spikes over 200 at the start before levelling to a more believable HR. Bit disappointed that I dropped so much money and have to go back to my old device to get a more accurate reading

Try moving up the arm a little. Then try the other arm. Even try making it a little tighter. Possibly putting a little water on where the HR sensor will come in contact with your arm/wrist. Cold weather can cause issues. The issue with your resting HR might be an issue that FB needs to look at. If you have a HR strap and another watch have them both on- on different wrists. If the HR strap measures close to your manual taking of your pulse and the Ionic is way off. Send it back .

Tried all that. Woke up laying in bed saying my HR is over 70. Factory reset the device, still nothing. Resounding that it’s a faulty device, I’ve had a fitbit of some description for since 2012 so I think I’m wearing it correctly - looking at my stats for the past 30 days you can see a distinct jump in resting HR from when I started wearing the Ionic opposed to my blaze so either I suddenly had the subconscious ability to speed my heart up or it’s a faulty device, I’ll say the latter - will have to hope that the store will replace it
