Hours wasted Fitbit Ionic (27.32.10.20) and OnePlus5T

New Ionic, upgrade from the rock solid charge2.  OnePlus5T about a year old I guess.  BT works fine for me in car, earpiece, headphones, keyboard.

Connected, upgraded FW to the above.  Next AM (10th Jul), said it hadn't sync'd since night before.  Got the phone and the account to forget the Ionic and reconnected again.  Worked for a while.  hasn't sync'd since last night now.  Chat support with Fitbit..... not compatible.

So are there fixes afoot, am I returning it to where I bought it from?

It is a bit crap that bluetooth is a std and between 2 reasonably large mfr's you don't have a mediation system to sort out issues.  I'll be posting the same on OnePlusT's site.

From chat: "And Ionic has been released in recent months so the Bluetooth requirements are totally different to past devices that possibly worked with non supported devices." Surely if you release a product now, you check it works with other products.  I want to know what has been communicated betweek the co's.

So - what's the solution?

Have you removed your other tracker from the account. The Ionic doesn't play well with other trackers.

Thanks Patruns - yes, removed the Charge HR2 from the account and as an attached bluetooth on the phone.  I have now contacted OnePlus as well and raised with them.  They are (I think) sending me some generic BT help, but not holding out too much hope,

I just noticed it has now just sync'd - so that is 17:50 last night and 17:00 today it managed to.

I am a developer and it is a real shame there is no telemetry / diagnostics on this.  I have very happy to be part of a solution, but hate it when things that should really just work don't.

I am worried about it getting any marks on it and then the retailer not taking it back.  But also don't want to write it off as then I will have a "bad fitbit story"

Suddently started working 24 hours later after I had given up on it.  It has now sync'd fine, except for this AM when I needed to reboot my phone.  Better diagnostics would be great.............

Back to life - thanks for the thoughts.
